Resipole Farm Holiday Park: View from the touring park

General

  • Well-maintained and peaceful park in the west Highlands
  • Family-run site on a working farm
  • Spectacular scenery across Loch Sunart

Just cop a look of those views. This friendly farm park is on the shores of Loch Sunart on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in the Highlands, a remote place famed for its peace and for its spectacular coastline: one might almost be tempted to use the word 'rugged'.

Use this peaceful park as a base to explore its vast outdoor surrounds, or just somewhere to settle down and soak up the splendid scenery; the Resipole Farm Holiday Park team reckons you'll be pretty chuffed either way.

The park is set on a working farm on the lochside shores, with Highland and Galloway cattle grazing in its ancient woodland. It's a family business that's been welcoming guests for over 40 years and staff are always on hand if you need any help or tips.

The modern facilities at Resipole include toilets and showers, a drying room, a launderette and a washing-up area. A food shop is also on site, fishing is available, and a private slipway is to hand for guests' use.

The scenery is absolutely stunning. There are excellent facilities nearby at the Salen Jetty Shop, which is just as well as there were no facilities open on the site.
The site itself was nice and quiet and very well kept. We will definitely return at some point in the future.

    Disliked:

The fact that no facilities were open. We had stayed at a site in Loch Lomond before travelling to Resipole and their facilities were open, so could see no reason for them not to be open here too.

Lovely part of the country to stay, great that it has the mountain behind for walking up Ben Resipole and not require to travel and find parking for walking. Staff were excellent, couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

    Disliked:

Unfortunate the facilities were not open, so can't mark them out of 10, if they were and sure they would be clean I would give the site 5 stars.

Local attractions

The Ardnamurchan peninsula is reckoned to be one of the most spectacular and unspoilt parts of the Scottish coastline and the Lochabar region is a designated conservation area for its wide range of wildlife.

Fifty or so walks are available around the Ardnamurchan and Morvern area, all covered in a leaflet you can pick up and peruse in reception. Pack proper outdoor kit and footwear to get out as much as poss and see what wildlife is around: the peninsula is home to golden eagles, pine martens and red deer above and on its land, and to otters and seals in the shallow waters near the park.

Loch Sunart is within easy reach of Resipole Farm Holiday Park and as a sea loch is stuffed with all sorts of catches for enthusiastic anglers. Boating, kayaking and canoeing are also popular loch picks.

If you want to take things down a notch from all the outdoor activities, potter around nearby Resipole Studios, an art gallery and studio with exhibitions throughout the year.

  • Glencoe Visitor Centre (22.3 miles)
  • West Highland Museum (24.2 miles)
