  • Well-maintained park with superb views
  • Next to Powfoot Golf Course; four miles from Annan
  • Next to a beach nature reserve
Peaceful, quiet, relaxing and nature-filled breaks are the name of the game at Queensberry Bay Holiday Park, a fab holiday park on the shores of Scotland's Solway Firth. If pubs, clubs and loud entertainment are very much not your thing, you'll find all you need here at this top-end and popular park instead, including an excellent little campers' kitchen with first-class views across the bay. The park also has excellently maintained showers and toilets, and a small licensed shop selling essentials like chocolate and the (also very well-regarded) Queensberry bacon rolls. The Queensberry team is keen to point out that those looking for golden sands might be better off heading further west along the coast; the beach here, however, is a beaut nature reserve filled with grassy knolls and pools, and a breeding ground of the protected natterjack toad. It's just the spot for Spot and other dogs too as it's a perfect place for walking the pooch.

Liked: Fantastic location! Sandside pitch overlooking the Solway. Reception staff were very friendly & helpful. The Sandpiper restaurant was dog friendly & very welcoming. We had some lovely walks from the site along the beach, to the village & along the river through the woods. Perfect first stop for our tour of the West Coast of Scotland.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike!

Great walks for the dog including a secure exersise field.. The bar/restaurant was lovely with a dog friendly area and great views. The barman was really friendly. The shower/toilet block was absolutely immaculate and nice and warm. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Fantastic value for money too.

Sandside electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: beautiful little site that came as a lovely surprise. perfect positioning, clean and spacious. Julia in reception is a delight to engage with. The facilities block is just perfect - well designed, clean and modern. Any minor niggles we had on our 2nd (unplanned) stop over were dealt with quickly, effectively and courteously. One thing that you need to be aware of is that there is no drop for grey water. All geared toward cassette type waste containers. You have to find a public drain to empty the grey water tank. Only thing that lets this wee gem down totally dog friendly too - designated seating in the restaurant for dogs and their families and plenty fussing from the staff. WiFi is ok for the odd thing but not for streaming. Who wants to spend time on a screen when the view is so good? All in all would visit again and highly recommend

Disliked: lack of facilities for emptying grey water

Sandside electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: My wife and I stayed at the site with our Motorhome for 2 nights whilst doing the West Coast 300. We found the site very easily - there was ample road signs showing the location of the park. The reception building is amazing - it has a small shop and restaurant/bar/cafe. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and informative. The bar was comfortable with dog friendly area, the hot chocolate was delicious. Our pitch faced the estuary - what a view. Every morning we watched the numerous birds feeding in the coastline and we watched the horses being rode along the beach. The shower and was facilities are amazing - each cubicle had toilet, shower and sink and so warm. I could have stayed in the shower for hours. There are some lovely walks within the immediate vicinity of the park. We will definitely return as it’s stunning!

Disliked: There is nothing negative about this holiday park.
