Queensberry Bay Holiday Park

Welcome to Queensberry Bay Holiday Park. We're a small family-owned holiday park on the shores of the Solway Firth in Scotland, specialising in peaceful, quiet and relaxing breaks. We offer touring, glamping and self-catering luxury units.

We're not about pubs, clubs and noisy entertainment, but you will find everything you'd expect from a top-end peace and quiet park, including our small licensed shop (where we sell chocolate and our great bacon rolls), superb showers and toilets, a great little campers' kitchen with terrific views across the bay and our pampering spa which according to our regulars is out of this world!

Please note, ours is not a golden sandy beach. It is a nature reserve and the breeding ground of the protected Natterjack Toad for which it is ideal with its grassy knolls and pools. If you are looking for golden sands, you would be better heading further west along the coast - ours however, is perfect for dog walkers.

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

Additional terms

Please note, for the purposes of our park security procedures we require a valid mobile number for every booking. The mobile must be with you throughout your stay at the campsite.

We accept bookings for up to two associated parties (meaning any form of friendship or previous acquaintance as well as family members). Bookings for more than two parties, single-sex groups of more than two and any groups aged under 25 are not accepted.

Please note there is a charge of £1.00 for a shower which lasts approximately 5 minutes, the showers do include complimentary soap, conditioner and shampoo.

All bookings: a £20 deposit for the key fob will be payable on arrival. The fob gives access to the showers, laundry and campers kitchen and to the barrier after dark. The deposit is normally returned at check out when we get our fob back - so long as it is not damaged in any way or so long as you don't owe us money for something. If you have extended your stay for example, the deposit is set off against what you owe. If you leave before the reception is open please leave the fob in the key box by the reception door and then call us during the day and we'll take card details to refund the deposit onto the card of your choice. In case of cancellation this deposit will be retained as a cancellation charge.

Accommodation: a £25 damage deposit is due on arrival and will be refunded 14 days after check out, as long as no breakages have been found.

If you choose to leave early and the office is closed please place the keys in the letter box alongside the reception. Please call us on the day of departure to tell us you have done this and let us have your card details for the refund.

Barring emergencies, accommodation will be ready by 4pm. If you arrive earlier, please ask. Your unit may be ready earlier.

Only the person named on the booking form may check in. Access to the unit will be denied where the person so named is not available to check in. That person is responsible for the booking, for the behaviour of the party as a whole and for the repair or reinstatement of any accidental damage occasioned to our property in the course of your stay.

Accommodation: please ensure that you check out by 10am. Late checkout can be arranged depending on availability and prior arrangement - check first!

Check-in must be before our park office closes: dusk in winter and 9pm from June to end of August. We have a barrier system in place. Once the barrier are closed you will not be able to check in until the next morning. Late check-in can be arranged when you pay your balance - an additional £30 applies.

Our self-catering units accommodate up to four people. We cannot accommodate larger parties. In the case of touring and camping we operate the same rule - a maximum of four people per unit.

We are a peaceful and quiet park. We can accept bookings for up to two associated parties (meaning any form of friendship or previous acquaintance as well as family members). Bookings for more than two parties, single-sex groups of more than two and any groups aged under 25 are not accepted via

We are unable to accept any commercial vehicles on the park, with or without trade advertisement. We also are unable to accept any go-peds, mini mopeds, scooters, scramblers, quad bikes or other motorised, off-road, toy or farming vehicles. Our park is covered by road traffic legislation and the same laws therefore apply here as on the open road. Motorised vehicles of any kind are prohibited from the shore and merse.

This is a great spot for cycling - the Sustrans 7 route runs through our park. Please do however ensure that you and any of your party are acquainted with the Highway Code and aware of the dangers of cycling on and off the main highways.

We are situated right on the shores of the Solway Firth and the tide can be treacherous. Please make a point of reviewing the tide times (on our shop window) and make sure that you are always within sight of the shore. Please ensure that no children in your party are allowed to wander away from the shore unsupervised.

We have a strict code of behaviour on our park- which doesn't suit everyone. We operate a zero tolerance policy towards rowdiness, rudeness and aggression of any kind. We do not allow the use or storage of firearms, weapons or illegal substances in any form. By booking with us you are undertaking to adhere to our code of behaviour. We reserve the right at all times to refuse entry to the park, or to remove from the park any guest or party whose behaviour has caused us, our staff or our other guests concern. Such notice will be verbal and you will be required in this case to leave the park within one hour or such shorter time as we think fit.

We welcome well-behaved children and parents onto our park, but there is little to do. As a result we do not hold out our park as being suitable for anything but the youngest of children, and only with constant parent or guardian supervision. We have a strict code of behaviour for children of all ages. For safety reasons, any child found wandering the park alone at any time will be returned to their base and the party asked to leave the park.

Responsible dog owners are very welcome here. Please note that we can't take any dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act and we can only take dogs - no other pets. We ask you to make sure that your dog is not a nuisance or pest to other guests and that you clear up after him at all times. Your dog must not be left alone on the park, inside or out, at any time.

We require noise to be kept to a minimum, especially after 9pm. This includes shouting by children or adults, barking dogs, the playing of instruments, radios or general chatter that might disturb your neighbour.

We do not allow fires on the park. You may use a commercial disposable barbecue but not on the grass or deck of your unit and never in a confined space! Please make sure you use it in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and dispose of it as instructed and in the bins provided.

Ball games and kite flying are only permitted in the football field or on the shore. We do not allow ball games or kite flying of any sort in or around the caravans as this may disturb your neighbour and /or damage their property. To avoid confrontation we do not allow the flying of flags of any kind.

We take the running of our park very seriously and we want to hear from you if you have any comments - good or bad - or recommendations for improvements. We can only improve if we listen to what our guests actually want! If you have a point you wish to raise at any time, please ask to see Graham Simons who will listen and take the matter forwards. Please do not merely post anonymous comments on the internet - give us the chance at least to put things right!
