That the park was very clean and well kept.. close to the little village and the site had spectacular views of the cliff tops! Absolutely stunning. The park was a hidden gem and everyone seemed very friendly and pleasant. Lovely big pitches and gravel too. Would definitely stay again.

The pitch was appropriate for our motorhome needs, there was a tap with fresh water and an electric plug in for our electric lead to hook-up. The pitch was fairly level, we had to use our levellers.
The whole site was well maintained, clean and tidy, no rubbish lying around.
The toilet and shower facilities were open every day and they were cleaned every day.
The shower facilities were the same, clean and tidy and open to all.
The restaurant was open for food, should you wish to sit inside.
    Staff were friendly and pleasant.

    Disliked:

When we first arrived we were told we had to wait until 2pm to access the site, even though my emails said 12noon, so we had to sit and wait a while, luckily only about 30 mins. There were no numbers on the pitches when we arrived, but they were put up whilst we were there.
My husband had to ask about the disposing of the toilet cassette waste and the member of staff wasn't sure about this as he had only been employed a week.
My husband also asked about the water to wash away the toilet cassette as it wasn't working and again the new employee wasn't sure, but he sorted it all out for us after 2 days there.
Alcohol had to be drunk outside only and the amusements were not open.
I couldn't access any wi-fi, not sure of the sites wi-fi, it wasn't in the leaflets we received upon arrival

Put me off all Park Dean sites forever!04/10/2020

I should imagine this "camp site" is what you would expect when collecting vouchers in The Sun newspaper for a £9.95 holiday. It is terribly commercial. The check in at the security booth was done efficiently by a friendly staff member and were given clear instructions on how to get to our pitch. I was expecting it to be a grass, as that's what I'd booked but was pleased when we arrived to find that it was gravel. The electric hook up points were slightly confusing as our pitch (2) appeared to have pitch 1's plug in it. Turns out no, the side for pitch 2 was on side 1's side.

There is no ambiance at this place other than a static caravan holiday home site. We didn't use the included 'entertainment pass', instead preferring our own company in our van. I also didn't care for the loud music coming from one of the static caravans and a group of youths hanging around the refuse bins.

There is a path around one side of the site, which is literally right on the cliff top and do give great views of Eyemouth and it's harbour as well as being a stones throw from the former Eyemouth Fort which is impressive.

The toilets were clean and modern however the hand dryer was worse than an asthmatic dog and took forever to dry ones hands inconveniencing other users of the facilities. The toilet block was heated and requires a code to get in. I'm assuming this is to stop all the kids and other holiday makers using them.

The (two) showers were the most disappointing part to our stay. Considering the toilets are clean and modern, the showers are not. Only having one hook to hang ones dry items proved awkward but at were at least warm and had decent pressure. It does make me wonder who checks the facilities and knows what guests need and require. I for one do not require a hot water tap with pressure so high that it could remove the most stubborn stains on block paving. So you've just managed a dance in the shower cubical to get dry and dressed, but then have your crotch soaked through by turning on the tap. Thank you Park Dean Resorts. This place is a no no for me. It was a means to an end but a disappointing one at that.

    Disliked:

Type of site and the showers.

Local attractions

Eyemouth’s harbour is home to a busy fishing port and fishmarket, and is also regularly frequented by seals and swans. The town has eateries and shops, an art gallery, a museum and maritime centre, and trips out on glass-bottomed boats in the warmer months.

The park is well-placed for walkers and cyclists who want to explore the Berwickshire and Northumberland coastlines; this being Scotland, there are plenty of golf courses around too.

The walled border town of Berwick-on-Tweed is only 15 minutes away by car and has a good range of shops, plus a military barracks and museum, and a splendid railway viaduct. Venture a little south into Northumberland and you could visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne or Bamburgh Castle, both well worth the trip.

  • Berwick-upon-Tweed Museum and Art Gallery (8.0 miles)
