Our site is a secluded haven, situated near Kilberry on the beautiful unspoilt coastline of mid Argyll, with panoramic views across the sea to Islay and Jura. The sheer beauty of the landscape and the rich diversity of windflowers and wildlife makes Port Bàn an interesting and peaceful retreat for those who want to get away from it all. Relax in the peaceful atmosphere while camping, touring or enjoying the setting sun.

You can swim, bring your boat, paddle a canoe, fish, explore the rockpools, cycle, walk or take a day trip to explore the area, at the same time discovering some of Scotland’s finest local food. This is also a place where children can benefit from the freedom and space Port Bàn brings.

Facilities include:

- a large play area for children with fort, swings, slides, a fireman’s pole and a small climbing wall
- a games hall with a pool and table tennis table, near the café
- a modern toilet block on the camping field, with free hot showers, drying room and washroom, completely refurbished in 2013
- a shop selling groceries, toys, fishing tackle, souvenirs, jewellery, stationery and stamps
- a coffee bar with freshly ground coffee, home baking, light meals, snacks and fish and chips to eat in or take away
- a quiet daytime lounge with a small library and a soft drinks bar, operating during evening entertainment
- mountain bikes for hire on site with helmets provided for a small additional charge

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Fouling must be cleaned up immediately.


Children must be supervised by their parents at all times.


The speed limit is 10mph.

Additional terms

Port Ban is a family focused holiday park where peace and quiet are highly valued. All site rules must be adhered to and instructions given by the site management must be complied with.

The site has a quiet after 11pm and silent after midnight policy. Radios, CD players and cassette players may not be used in the camping field or on the shore at any time.

As a family orientated site we would ask you to exercise discretion in your public use of language and will not tolerate disturbances arising from the misuse of alcohol. You are not allowed to walk around the site drinking alcohol.

If you are having a bonfire/barbecue on the beach please ensure that you do not disturb others and that the area is tidied up afterwards.

If you are planning to return to the park after midnight, we would ask you to park your car at reception and walk quietly to your caravan or tent to avoid disturbing other people.

If accessing to neighbouring land you must do so responsibly and in accordance with the Scottish Access Code. In particular never take a dog into a field where there are calves, pregnant sheep or newborn lambs.

When there is a wedding in progress on neighbouring land, please refrain from crossing the burn to the north of the camping field or approaching Cretshengan beach (next to Campbell's tomb).

Evening entertainment available Fridays and Saturdays in high season (July and August).

Bike hire is available on site at a small extra cost of £20 to £40 a week or £5 to £10 a day.
