Out with the old and in with the new: Lochlands Caravan Park, on the edge of the historic market town of Forfar, was once an old Angus farm complete with historic horse mill, and has now had a full facelift to transform into a family-friendly and snug pitch-up spot for exploring Scotland’s east coast and the gorgeous Angus Glens, or getting some shut-eye on a stopover between Dundee and Aberdeen.
Much of the work has focused on getting the pitches and roads into shipshape condition, with work also carried out on the Lochlands shop, bar and restaurant in 2012, and the shower and toilet block has been fully upgraded. There’s been a laundry room added too, and the new and improved version of the park now has lashings of lighting and a 24 hour warden on site.
The spacious and serene pitches at Lochlands are handstanding and come with electric hookup; there’s also a washing up area and facilities for disabled guests. Pets are welcome and there’s a play area on site for mini campers.
There are buses outside the park entrance to Forfar and Dundee; the nearest supermarket is a mile and a half away and there’s a 24 hour Tesco within two and a half miles.
