General

Situated near Devizes in the Wiltshire countryside, Mill Farm takes luxury camping to a new level. For over a hundred years, three generations of the Dyke family have been farming here and the present owners, Joe and Izzy – pioneers of glamping – know what it takes to make a stay under canvas exceptional. Glamping at Mill Farm is designed to appeal to those who want to unwind and get close to nature, without compromising on style or comfort.

This peaceful haven is also home to the farm’s chickens, and guests may collect their own eggs for breakfast.

The canvas lodges are situated in top and bottom water meadow, within the grounds of Mill farm.

These luxurious new canvas lodges provide discerning campers with a generous master bedroom, second twin or double bedroom, children’s bedroom with bunk beds and a rear deck with separate toilet and bathroom with flushing toilets and hot showers. The stylishly decorated living and dining area is centred on a cooking stove with oven, hob and woodburning fire.

Spectacular views take in the nearby river and woods where according to local history highwaymen plied their trade. Today it is an opportunity for fishing, paddling or a picturesque walk to a local pub.

Guest facilities include an honesty shop for essential camping needs and daily necessities, as well as wifi.

The free farm tours are a real hit with families where all can learn what makes an organic farm tick and have a chance of hands-on fun. We also offer donkey rides, mini tractor hire, laser sport, smoker barrel or outdoor cooking pot hire and horse-riding (extra charges apply - please book on arrival).

Directions

From London on the M4
Exit the motorway at Junction 14 Hungerford. Follow the signs to Marlborough. At Marlborough, follow the signs to Devizes. At Devizes follow the A361 to Trowbridge. When leaving Devizes, you will enter a dual carriageway going down a hill; just past the scrapyard on the right, take the next left into Poulshot - slightly beyond the blue bus shelter on your left. In Poulshot, go past the Raven pub and on past the village green - with the football posts. At the next sharp right-hand bend, you'll find Mill Farm Glamping on your left, with a ramped entrance and a slight incline.

From Salisbury
From Salisbury follow the signs for the A360 to Devizes. Follow the A360 all the way until the turn off for Worton - which is on the left of a T-junction after the railway bridge with traffic lights - coming out of West Lavington. Follow this road through Worton and keep driving until you reach a sign on the right, marked Poulshot, Devizes and Rowde. Take this turning and follow the road which goes into Poulshot. Keep going along until you see a farm with a ramped entrance and a slight incline - this is Mill Farm Glamping.

On arrival at Mill Farm Glamping, please drive into the main farm entrance and knock on the farmhouse back door. You will find Joe or Izzy here. If not, we will be very close by so please wait in the farmyard for us.

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the Pitchup.com terms and conditions.

Additional terms

Mill Farm only accepts bookings from persons over 18 years of age.

The rental includes:
- Use of water, and wood for indoor stoves and bed linen

Our check in time is between 4 and 6pm; it is very important to plan your journey so that you arrive at the farm during daylight. You are not arriving at a hotel where you park and walk across a well-lit path, so please do plan to arrive during daylight hours: it really is essential, as due to safety reasons we do not allow cars into campsite field. It will take time to load and unload and then unpack, and light the woodburning stove. Don't forget making the beds too; all of this is so much easier in the daylight. All tents are lit with the use of large rechargeable lanterns which generate plenty of light, and the night skies are wonderful here especially on a cloudless night, but it really is pitch black!

It is the right of Mill Farm to refuse group bookings if we feel that this may be of detriment to other guests staying on the farm.

In principle, it is permitted to receive visitors during your stay at Mill Farm. These visitors must report themselves to the reception area and are required to sign the visitors' book, leaving full contact details. To maintain the ambiance and atmosphere of Mill Farm, we limit day visitors to one family visiting per booking during your stay.

No dogs or other pets are permitted in the lodges, on site or on our farm for health and safety as well as animal hygiene regulations.

The guests have the right to occupy the property for the paid-for holiday period only.

Guests undertake to behave in a proper, appropriate and legal manner with due respect to the owner, the property and other guests and their property. If any guest behaves inappropriately or improperly (of which the owner will be the final judge on their property), or illegally, the owner reserves the right to ask the guest and their party (at their discretion) to leave the property before the end of the holiday period. Any refund for so doing will be at the entire discretion of the owner in consultation with the agents. In addition, the owner reserves the right to sue the guest for any loss, damage or injury caused to the owner, the property or to other guests and/or their property.

If there is a breach of any of these conditions by the guest or any of their party, the owners reserve the right to re-enter the property and end the holiday and ask the guest and their party to leave in addition to their other rights specified in these booking conditions.

Ending the holiday by the owners or the guests does not affect that party's other rights and remedies.

Any dispute will be governed by the non-exclusive law and jurisdiction of the English courts.

Authority to sign – the person who books certifies that:
- he or she is authorised to agree the booking conditions on behalf of all persons included in the booking form, including those substituted or added at a later date;
- the signatory is over eighteen years of age;
- they agree to take responsibility for the party occupying the property, and to notify the owners if they are not a member of the holiday party.

Nothing in these conditions excludes or limits the liability of the owners:

- for death or personal injury caused by the owners' negligence

- for any matter which it would be illegal for the owners to exclude or attempt to exclude their liability.

The use of swimming pools, lakes, climbing trees and any other activity on the owners' land is the responsibility of the guest and is done so at their own risk.

You will be staying on a working farm with live animals and potentially dangerous farm equipment amongst other hazards. Whilst we take great care to keep you safe, accidents can happen and we are not held responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is your responsibility to supervise any children. If you notice that any equipment looks faulty and/or unsafe you must inform the farmer as soon as possible. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance against the risk of accidents and your stay being cut short.

Liability
a. Mill Farm accepts no liability for:
- theft, loss or damage, of whatever nature, during or as a result of a stay at Mill Farm
- falling into defect or putting out of action of technical equipment and loss or closure of supplies at Mill Farm
b. The tenant and those who accompany him or her, are jointly and severally responsible for all loss and/or damage which arises, for Mill Farm and/or any third party as a direct or an indirect consequence of their stay, irrespective of whether this was caused through actions or refraining from actions by themselves or by third parties who are at Mill Farm of their making, as well as for all damage which is caused by any animal and/or matter which they have under their responsibility.
c. If you leave your tent in an improper condition, additional (cleaning) costs can be charged.

Force majeure on the side of Mill Farm exists if the implementation of the agreement is entirely or partially, temporarily or permanently, prevented due to circumstances which are beyond the control of Mill Farm including threat of war, staff strikes, blockades, fire, floods and other disruptions or events.

Despite all the care of Mill Farm it could occur that you have a genuine complaint. You must take up this complaint with the farmer immediately, in order to allow us to solve the matter as soon as possible. Should the complaint not be settled to your satisfaction, then you have the option, up to 14 days after your departure, to submit the complaint in writing or by email to Customer Services Advocate, Mill Farm.

In the event that a court finds that a condition in these booking conditions is illegal or void, the illegal or void provision will be severed from the remainder of the booking conditions, which will continue to be valid and have full force and effect.
