Stilegate offers a unique opportunity to stay in a garden with fabulous views towards Exmoor National Park, the Somerset coast and beyond.

The Quantock Hills are minutes away on foot, or explore the Jurassic Coast at St Audries Bay, look for Exmoor ponies on the open moorland or nightjar birds in summer. We are ideally situated for mountain biking in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We are off the main A39 Bridgwater to Minehead road approximately 15 miles from Junction 23 of the M5. Enter the village of West Quantoxhead and turn left immediately past the Windmill pub, towards Bicknoller. Take the second right into Staple Lane, the first right into Staple Close and the house is situated in the far left corner, down a short driveway.

The nearest railway station is Taunton, approximately 15 miles away.

There are good public transport links via the A39 next to the site. A public house is within walking distance.

The beach at St Audries Bay is within walking distance. We live very close to 200-million-year-old ammonites, nautilus, shells and other marine creatures which can be found frequently on the beach in our village.

Within a short drive are Dunster Village with its castle, West Somerset Railway (Williton is the nearest station), Hestercombe House Gardens, Clarke's Retail Village, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, Wells and its beautiful Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole caves, Watchet and the marina, St Audries Bay, Minehead and Exmoor National Park.

Other places of interest nearby include Torr Cider Farm, Wimbleball Reservoir, Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum at Yeovil, Snow Drop Valley near Wheddon Cross, Somerset County Cricket at Taunton, Taunton Race Course, Brewhouse Theatre at Taunton, Bridgwater Carnival, Somerset Willow Craft Industry, Bakelite Museum, Watchet Boat Museum, fishing at Watchet or nearby lakes, badger watching on Exmoor or deer watching on the Quantock Hills. No single-sex groups of 3 or more people, or any stag or hen parties.

Silence rule from 10pm. This a quiet garden style site and we do not allow music to be played.

All rubbish to be removed from site by campers.

Dogs must be kept on leads and cleared up after.

No gazebo, trailer tents or pup tent allowed.

Please note, car not included in the rate - if you are bringing one, choose the relevant extra on the booking page. All cars must be parked in the car parking.
