  • Ideal location to visit Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset attractions
  • Family run with friendly and helpful staff
  • Two-acre off-lead field for dogs
Three miles from Poole and 20 minutes from Bournemouth spells Dorset seaside to us. And if you like to get to the Dorset seaside without picking up the car keys, stay at South Lytchett Manor Caravan Park: the excellent bus service at the gates runs to Poole and Bournemouth as well as to Wareham and Swanage. South Lytchett Manor is a family-run park, set in 25 acres of the peaceful parkland once belonging to Lytchett Manor. It's family-friendly and has a playground as well as plenty of space for ball games and a two-acre mown off-lead field to let dogs run loose. The South Lytchett Manor team says their amenities blocks are of an exceptional standard and we're sure we'd agree: not only are they heated in the winter and have powerful showers, they also come with professional hair dryers, piped music and fresh flowers. For food, the site has direct access to a craft centre with a café serving breakfast, lunch and Dorset cream teas, and a comely village pub serving food a ten-minute walk along a tarmac footpath: look out for any special food and wine offers.

Local attractions

There's so, so much to see around Dorset and this corner of England... even if you only stick to the coast you'll have days and days' worth of trips to the likes of the Jurassic Coast, seaside resort beaches, family attractions and the museums of the likes of Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Swanage and Wareham. The biggest island in fab Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island, is another popular place for Dorset visitors: it's managed these days by the National Trust and filled with wildlife including red squirrels and sika deer. Climb the cliffs for spectacular views of Poole Harbour and the Isle of Purbeck. Also see Sandbanks, the peninsula with one of the highest land values in the world, Corfe Castle and the splendid sight of Dorset landmark Durdle Door, and have fab family days out at the likes of Monkey World and the Bovington Tank Museum.
