General

  • Family park close to Poole, Studland and Sandbanks
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, amusement arcade, play areas and kids' clubs
  • Bowling, crazy golf, ice cream parlour, restaurant and clubhouse

Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches on its doorstep... From its peaceful woodland setting, guests have easy access to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole.

Boredom's not an option at this park, where the activities galore include a summer outdoor and indoor pool complex; a dedicated musical play pool for toddlers; courts for tennis and many other sports; bikes and pedal go-karts for hire, and nature trails crisscrossing the site.

Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the kids around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour.

The park also has three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film-making and DJ workshops...plus the free wifi on site).

Young’uns will also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, with a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia.

Recharge your batteries at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Then top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Troupers: you should sleep well after that lot...

Excellent family friendly site with great staff, 26/08/2017

This site is fantastic for keeping children busy lots to do, everything seemed well organised. Staff very helpful. Camping pitches clearly signposted and labelled. We had a a great time children especially loved the swimming pools - would have liked them to be open longer but that's just a personal view as my children are water babies!!

    Disliked:

Unfortunately the cleanliness of the camping area toilets let this site down a lot. While I understand with campers toilet blocks are in constant use I never saw the floor clean, I had a cold shower with the temperature of the shower water being set by the site - again not something I liked as a preference I prefer hot to lukewarm. I definitely think extra cleaners during peak season would be beneficial.

Terrible site and bad way to book using pitch up 25/08/2017

    Nothing

    Disliked:

    The park itself:

Was very dirty, shower blocks were so bad you felt dirty when you came out than when you went in. Washing up area was terrible also. The site is too big for the amenities.

    Pitch up:
We paid for a touring pitch but we were put on a tent pitch, the first pitch was to small to fit the campervan and awning onto due to tree stumps all over it. We finally persuaded them to give us another pitch but it was under trees so it was mud and pine cones not grass. When we complained they said it was due to booking through pitch up and it was tough. We paid for a better pitch and got the worst one on the site. Pitch up need to manage them selves better so that when you book through them you get the same treatment as someone booking directly. We won't use them again due to this.

Fun family site, friendly staff, clean facilities and good location. 26/07/2017

Plenty to keep the children busy on site which is inclusive of price... Several play parks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools (which are heated and lovely temperatures), indoor soft play area, evening entertainment an discos.
For an extra cost there is crazy golf, go kart hire and horse riding, arcade and on site restaurants/chip shop/ convenience store etc.
We all had lots of fun. We picked Dorset because we enjoy the range of things to do in the location itself, but this time we didn't actually leave the site as our 8 year old made lots of friends and our 2 year old was more than happy. :)
Shower blocks/toilet blocks were very well kept and stocked.
Washing rooms for dishes were even nice and clean.
Our pitch was large with no limit to extra tents/gazebos up so long as it fits on your pitch.

    Disliked:

The cost of extra activities were a lot steeper than when we have stayed at other parkdean parks before.

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list).

Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park has thrills for kids of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in. Action men (and women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum.

There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest salt water lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
