This was by far the best camp site we have ever stayed at.

Quiet large field with few pitches and no cars. Campfires, Lush safe field for children to play in, Spectacular views of rolling Dorset countryside speckled with livestock. Spacious hot showers and toilet facilities. Outstanding organic meat to order daily including Organic Lamb and Mint Burgers, which were AMAZING! Organic Chicken, Hereford Beef Burgers, organic sausages, eggs and local bread. To top it all, friendly helpful farmers and no dogs!

Will definitely book again, would definitely recommend. If you don't like mixing with caravans, want to avoid noisy campers, and other peoples dogs and you want safe clean, rustic family camping not too far from the beach, then this ticks all the boxes!

Very spacious quiet organic campsite with lovely loo/shower block! 18/08/2017

This campsite was perfect. Huge pitches, in fact big enough for my friend and I to pitch our tents (5m bell tent and 6 man tunnel tent) up next to each other on one pitch as there weren't two neighbouring pitches available. The owner, Tom was more than happy for us to do this and leave the other pitch empty. He limits how many people he has on site. He has carefully created a campsite that he would like to camp in and it is truly lovely. Mown paths lead to your pitch and this means you don't have people traipsing too close to your space. The showers and loos have been built carefully and are cleaned more than once a day it seemed. I would agree with an other reviewer with the suggestion of a mop as the showers did over flow a bit. But really a minor thing. Nice soap, loo roll and paper towels are provided which was a very nice touch. Will definitely be returning!

Beautiful scenery, cleanliness of tent, showers were fabulous and washing ... 16/08/2017

Beautiful scenery, cleanliness of tent, showers were fabulous and washing facilities good. Warm welcome from Tom who engaged my twin girls in conversation and was very pleasant and interested in our conversation. Shower rooms were cleaned daily. Freezer available to freeze ice blocks which I thought was a nice touch as well as the opportunity to have breakfast goods delivered to tent on the next morning. We did not get the best weather for our week but that didn't deter from the scenery and peacefulness of Haddon Copse :)

    Disliked:

There was nothing about Haddon Copse that I disliked but I think maybe a couple of possible ideas for future.
A mop outside the shower room would have been good as I myself wouldn't have minded a quick mop up after my girls and I had had a shower, just to keep it tidy for the next person.
Also I thought the idea of a boiler or even a kettle may have been a good idea (even if a fee was required) just for a quick cuppa in the morning.

Lovely, secluded site with friendly owners who go the extra mile 15/08/2017

It was very secluded and intimate due to the limited pitches. Pitches themselves were clearly marked and large enough that our tent looked tiny! Lovely, friendly owners who made themselves known and clearly wanted everyone to enjoy their stays. They hand delivered produce straight to your tent that could be ordered the day before and was locally sourced.
In the evenings, you have your own fire pit with wood/kindling etc ready to buy on the campsite. We lit ours every night and enjoyed sitting around it.
Bathrooms were clean and large and I absoutely loved the showers- water was consistently hot with great pressure.
We would love to go back and stay in one of the yurts. It was a thoriughy enjoyable stay and brilliant site which was cheaply priced.

    Disliked:

I honestly can't think of anything negative at this time.

Everything! The space is beautiful and well kept, the view is amazing. There is only a few pitches so it has plenty of space, you cant even talk to your neighbors without walking to their pitch.
The toilets are clean and pleasant.
The fire pits and cheap wood are a very nice touch.
You can buy eggs, bacon etc from the owner who is very friendly (and even managed to find some steaks for us to take home!)
    Overall a very relaxed atmosphere.

The camping site is very good, it will never be overcrowded, and you have an amazing view over the fields.
You can have bacon delivered to your tent, how much better can it get?, and you can purchase eggs, bread, milk, chicken and so on from the farm itself.
The fire pit was a charm and kindling and wood affordable.
    Clean facilities and hot showers.
If coming back to the region would stay again.

Quiet, friendly, spacious, picturesque campsite 03/08/2017

  • Bell tent
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked:

We liked everything about our stay, especially the fact the lovely bell tent was already assembled so no need to stress about putting a tent up. The mattresses were clean and comfortable - not as comfy as a mattress on a bed, but so much better than an inflatable.
We liked the fact the farm is organic. There's the oportunity to pre order burgers, bacon and chicken fresh from the farm and cook on the fire pit/BBQ. Fantastic food, we really enjoyed the minted lamb burgers. Fresh organic free range eggs were always available as was BBQ coal, logs and kindling.
The view from all the pitches is amazing - beautiful countryside. Each pitch is spacious, with neatly mown paths to and from the pitch ensuring privacy as no neighbours wandering past your tent. No cars next to the tent means it's safe four children. Large wheel barrows are available for transporting all your stuff (and people!) to and from car to tent.
The loo's and showers were clean.
We loved the environmental credentials of the farm - different bins to put recycling in, bee's, solar powered heating for the hot water and as previously mentioned organic.
The owner Tom was friendly and helpful.
On the whole a real treat if you are looking for a quiet, simple, back to nature break away.

The no stress check in arrival, more tot the point not having to check in on arrival.
We are able to get unloaded and sorted, which is what is wanted after a long car journey, and get the kettle on for a cuppa.
Tom, the owner made us feel very welcome.
Being on a working farm we were in a field that had lovely views and farm animals, cows and sheep, in the next field to keep us company.
Each plot is a good size with personal fire pit which is set up to just keep warm and/or cook on. Which was get for us as we like to cook on an open fire while keeping warm in the evenings.
There are only 7 plots on the site, 3 are set up with bell tents for those that do not had or want to use their own tent. Which we opted for on this visit.
With there only being 7 plots it makes it a much quieter and enjoyable camping experience.
The bell tent we hired was spacious, 5m diameter, for our family two adults and 2 teenage boys and all our clothes, food and cooking equipment and we still have room for 4 chairs to sit in when we were not up to being out in the rain. The mattresses provided are comfortable, to the point I did not wake up until last 9am, normally wake up around 6am.
The farm is located few miles away from the nearest town so there was little to no traffic noise to disturb the tranquil setting.
    The facilities are clean.
There is a freezer which can be used to put you freezer blocks in.
The farm also offers the option of ordering for the next day burgers- beef and lamb, chicken, bacon and sausages.
There was an honesty box for the eggs.
