General

  • Pick from quiet weekdays or wild weekends
  • Large groups, stags and hens welcome
  • Happy hours, clubhouse, live bands and many events

Wild weekends or a mellow midweek? Whether you want to rave or relax your way through a seaside holiday, Europa Park’s concoction of quieter weekdays and crazy weekends has an option to entertain all.

If you’re a wild weekender, gather your party posse and whoop it up at this 15-acre Woolacombe park, where large groups - including stags and hens - are welcome, the drinks won’t break the bank thanks to the nightly happy hour, and the clubhouse rocks into the early hours in high season. As well as the regular live bands, themed nights and foam parties, you could organise karaoke or some other shenanigans, depending on how adventurous you’re feeling. We can already hear the specially organised ‘Party Break’ weekends beckoning nocturnal types…

If you’re a mellow midweeker, the team at Europa Park take care to quieten things down after the weekend, and the site has a family vibe then with the emphasis on relaxing seaside hols and sprog-friendly pursuits - all near dog-friendly and surf-heavy Woolacombe Beach, the South West Coast Path and family pedals on the Tarka Trail.

Either way, you’ll have access to all the Europa Park essentials: a clubhouse, restaurant with belly-busting all you can eat English breakfasts, shop with petrol filling station and hot takeaway, and arcade entertainment with fruit machines, pool tables and a dance machine for all ages to show off their moves.

Great location. Pods are brilliant. 22/08/2017

My friend and I wanted somewhere to stay where we could see the sea (we're from the Midlands!) and Europa Park delivered. We had a stunning view from our camping pod, and it was a pleasant 15 minutes walk to Woolacombe centre and beach. The pod was well kitted out, with lights, beds, fridge, kettle and TV. We went to see the band on Saturday night in the clubhouse and had a great time. A really nice, peaceful campsite. Fellow guests were respectful of each other.

    Disliked:

Customer service needs a little work - we were messed around at check in and i'm still waiting to a reply to an enquiry made 2 weeks ago. But we still liked it a lot - will stay again.

Good site, friendly staff, adequate facilities. 20/08/2017

Friendly staff. Clubhouse bar food was good and the prices reasonable.
Toilet / shower facilities were adequate. Ground was good to drive on and easy enough to put pegs in. Wi-Fi was good in the bar.

    Disliked:

NO PHONE SIGNAL on EE. Wi-Fi did not reach the pitch.
Pitches aren't assigned, it was go wherever you like. We should have explored the site more thoroughly before pitching. Not all pitches are as flat as one might like. Electric points weren't quite as frequent as expected but we got what we needed.

The weather wasn't the park's fault but we found our pitch a little exposed to the prevailing wind.

Local attractions

The park has good links with a local adventure sports company, and can sort out coasteering, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, mountain biking, orienteering or high ropes action for groups who want to get their adrenaline pumping.

For visitors who want a night out in Woolacombe, the Europa staff recommend a nosh-up at the Boardwalk or Electric restaurants, then some drinks in the Red Barn or the Jube before dancing it all off at the local club, Mariscos. There are also umpteen restaurants, bars and clubs in nearby Barnstaple; again, the Europa team will happily pass on their top picks, including some insider knowledge on where to find a cheap, safe cab home.

There’s plenty of fun nearby for those who do come with children (or who just like kidding around): comedy sheep-racing and duck trials at The Big Sheep, family rides and shows at the Milky Way Adventure Park, plus all sorts of animal attractions at Exmoor Zoo and the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.

Must see

  • RHS Garden Rosemoor (15.9 miles)

  • Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum (8.9 miles)
  • Heddon Valley (11.4 miles)
