General

  • Pick from quiet weekdays or wild weekends
  • Large groups, stags and hens welcome
  • Happy hours, clubhouse, live bands and many events

Wild weekends or a mellow midweek? Whether you want to rave or relax your way through a seaside holiday, Europa Park’s concoction of quieter weekdays and crazy weekends has an option to entertain all.

If you’re a wild weekender, gather your party posse and whoop it up at this 15-acre Woolacombe park, where large groups - including stags and hens - are welcome, the drinks won’t break the bank thanks to the nightly happy hour, and the clubhouse rocks into the early hours in high season. As well as the regular live bands, themed nights and foam parties, you could organise karaoke or some other shenanigans, depending on how adventurous you’re feeling. We can already hear the specially organised ‘Party Break’ weekends beckoning nocturnal types…

If you’re a mellow midweeker, the team at Europa Park take care to quieten things down after the weekend, and the site has a family vibe then with the emphasis on relaxing seaside hols and sprog-friendly pursuits - all near dog-friendly and surf-heavy Woolacombe Beach, the South West Coast Path and family pedals on the Tarka Trail.

Either way, you’ll have access to all the Europa Park essentials: a clubhouse, restaurant with belly-busting all you can eat English breakfasts, shop with petrol filling station and hot takeaway, and arcade entertainment with fruit machines, pool tables and a dance machine for all ages to show off their moves.

Dont book if you are travelling with children!!! 18/07/2017

  • Liked:

The clubhouse itself was clean, and nice to be in. The food was ok.

    Disliked:

It seems to be a camp site more aimed at young adults to come a drink. All night we could hear singing, shouting and loud music blasting out. This finally stopped at 5am. Not enjoyable.

Picking our own pitch was good and we were able to get 3 next to eachother no problem. The breakfast was good and showers warm. Staff were nice and campsite was clean

    Disliked:

The website doesn't do the camp justice, but the communication made up for this. The map said about a footpath to the beach which was too hard to find so walked down the road

A good base for a break in Woolacombe, good pod facility. 20/06/2017

Reviewer's country: United Kingdom Maria W. Confirmed

  • Camping pod (three man)
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked:

Check in and check out was easy, the pod was a fun way to quickly get set up and was non expensive. Because the pod has electricity and a fridge it made keeping food and drink cold.
The site is fairly noisy so don't expect it to be peaceful anytime although they do work hard to try and keep the party groups separate from families and people who are not in a large party.
The shower blocks are typical camping ones, use early in the day is my advice but at least the showers are good and have hot water.
The rest of the park is well kept, it is a long steep walk along the footpath to the centre of Woolacombe but it is pretty on a nice day. Taxis back up will only cost you £5 if you don't fancy walking back up.
We had a lovely weekend break here and was a good base for the weekend we had planned

    Disliked:

We have a low car so when trying to drive off the grass back onto the driveways we caught the underneath of our car as did many others so be aware of this.
I can't complain about anything as it met all our needs.

Barnstaple train station is a 20-minute drive from Europa Park.

Local attractions

The park has good links with a local adventure sports company, and can sort out coasteering, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, mountain biking, orienteering or high ropes action for groups who want to get their adrenaline pumping.

For visitors who want a night out in Woolacombe, the Europa staff recommend a nosh-up at the Boardwalk or Electric restaurants, then some drinks in the Red Barn or the Jube before dancing it all off at the local club, Mariscos. There are also umpteen restaurants, bars and clubs in nearby Barnstaple; again, the Europa team will happily pass on their top picks, including some insider knowledge on where to find a cheap, safe cab home.

There’s plenty of fun nearby for those who do come with children (or who just like kidding around): comedy sheep-racing and duck trials at The Big Sheep, family rides and shows at the Milky Way Adventure Park, plus all sorts of animal attractions at Exmoor Zoo and the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.

Must see

  • RHS Garden Rosemoor (15.9 miles)

National Trust

  • Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum (8.9 miles)
  • Heddon Valley (11.4 miles)
