Devon or Cornwall, Cornwall or Devon? There are certainly worse decisions to make in life, but many that are far less tricky. The good news is that at The Old Rectory Caravan and Camping Park in Tavistock, you’ll be slap bang on the border of these bountiful counties, so you can explore the delights of both with total ease.
Enjoy a slice of relaxed and self-sufficient living at The Old Rectory but fear not, simple living is no less comfortable at this family-run park. Alongside the modern loo and shower blocks, which have disabled access, the site also has a laundry room, a washing-up area, and a super kids’ play area with swings and a slide. Little extras to aid your transformation into a fully-fledged country connoisseur include welly loan, a welly and bike cleaning area and plenty of recycling facilities (to keep your stay green through and through).
Fill your tums farmers’ style with the free-range eggs, sausages and bacon produced on site, which the owners will handily pop in to the small communal fridge for you, and, when the weather’s right, even some home-grown veggies fresh from the polytunnel. Just pop your pennies in the honesty box to cover what you take. For after dinner, there’s an on-site book exchange or you can get starry eyed as you gaze at the dark skies above in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There’s even a smallholding on site that little Old Macdonalds in the making will love trotting around and sticking their snout into. Chickens, geese, Kunekune pigs and miniature ponies will greet guests, and if you’re bringing your own well-behaved four-legged companion, they can be exercised in the site’s designated dog-walking field.

It's now possible to make group bookings on Pitchup.com for up to 30 adults and 30 children.
As long as the 'one unit per pitch' rule is not highlighted on the pitch type information (please check this before completing your booking), you will be able to pitch your tents together on one booking.
If you are not satisfied with the results generated, try breaking your booking down for more options. For example, if you're a group of 10, enter five people for your initial search and book two pitches. Use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together when booking multiple pitches or accommodation units: the campsite or park will try to grant your request.
Before booking, please check the listing page for any group restrictions. These normally appear in a section titled 'Please note'. Please also check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit - especially for a large party - is suitable for the space you will be provided with.
