Don't go!!!!!!!!!! 06/10/2016

    Nothing

    Disliked:

No staff to help, felt like I was driving through a scrap yard as dismantled cars everywhere apart from where the rusty washing machines are.
Toilets and showers a disgrace, I wouldn't use them (photos added) so waited until I got home again.

absokutely lovely and well kept site! The animals are lovely and we enjoyed waking up to the cute cat coming to greet us every morning! Lovely clean showers and washing up facilities! And the lady owner was very pleasant she is one hard worker bless her.

    Disliked:

only thing that could be improved was the spiders in the shower room. Just whizz round the ceilings with a duster everyday to get rid of the cobwebs and it will be lovely!

Friendly staff and owner; tent pitches on a slight slope 31/08/2016

Reviewer's country: United Kingdom Simon W. Confirmed

  • Liked:

This is a nice camp site with friendly staff and very adequate facilities, crucially three electric showers (no lack of hot water therefore), hot water for washing up and 4 toilets. For me these are the important things.

    Disliked:

The slight negative here is the field itself, which is on a bit of a slope the whole way and quite exposed so when the wind picks up it will cause mischief to cheap tall family style tents. Nothing serious enough to stop a recommendation though.

Was ok but I wouldn't recommend 31/08/2016

It's a basic campsite with just showers and toilets all you need really but improvements could be made and some at no extra cost.

    Disliked:

Toilets were cleaned every morning however only one toilet roll place in each cubical to last the day!!! We pay good money I think a few more rolls in busy season could be put out. I also think the hole in one of the toilet roofs (a missing glass pain could be borded up) but the main issue I had with this park was the dogs running around, please put up a few signs stating dogs must remain on leads st all times, it's just common curtsy to other users. I'm a dog lover and have to my self, and I'm not making reference to the odd excapy there were dogs of the lead all the time and as a mum with children this was very unsettling. We even almost run over one by accident as it ran behind our car while we where reversing quickly followed by a child. This really need stopped before someone isant as lucky or worse bite by a dog plus it means they can go loo were ever they like. Maybe where your gonna put up your pitch 😟. Should be noted the route in needs a clean up you think your arriving at a gypsy site.

The view from the top of the field where we camped. The price was reasonably cheap.

    Disliked:

Next to a busy main road, it's quite loud. The field is on a hill so it was quite hard to find a flat ish spot to pitch up.

Local attractions

Known as the English Riviera because of its mild climate and miles of sandy beaches, this small corner of Devon is ideal for fishing, watersports, golf, climbing, hiking and biking.

Moustache twirlers and Poirot fans can follow the footsteps of the queen of crime along Torquay’s Agatha Christie Mile, taking you to Torquay Museum, Cary Gardens, Princess Gardens and the twelfth century Torre Abbey. Also in Torquay, take a trip to Kents Cavern, the marine aquarium and the miniature Babbacombe Model Village, all popular tourist attractions.

The nearby town of Paignton has the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway to puff along, and the longest established steam railway in the South West, the South Devon Railway, starts off at Buckfastleigh 13 miles from Kingsland. Paignton Zoo is also well worth a look, and Preston Sands and Elberry Cove handy for watersports and jetskiing.

Elizabethan enthusiasts can go below deck at the Golden Hind in Brixham, the replica of Sir Francis Drake’s globe-travelling ship; if this whets your appetite for all things nautical, hire a boat at the quayside for fishing and sightseeing.

To hike around more historical attractions, National Trust properties, museums, castles, abbeys and historic villages all close to hand.
