General

We've tried to make Aller feel extra cosy, and welcome you to nestle down and make yourselves at home on our Devonshire farm.

Our village is pretty as a picture too - its 17th century pub, the King's Arms, is just a short walk from the tents, though food lovers will want to stray further afield to Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Canteen and Deli in Axminster.

Nature’s riches are also on display right on your doorstep in the rolling Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the beaches of the Jurassic Coast, a paradise for fossil-hunters, are also only a 20-minute drive.

We provide maps of footpath walks from your tents and are happy to advise on which might be the best routes for you. The Blackdown Hills also hold regular events, from butterfly walks to mushroom foraging, details of which are available on their website. Escot Park has also delighted guests from age one to 61, and Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and The Donkey Sanctuary are both hits too.

Our boys love it when families with younger children stay and play, and will happily show new friends how to get up close to our 150 Friesians at milking time on our farm tour. Those that do will be awarded our special milking certificate. There are also plenty of ducks and free range laying hens, which means fresh eggs for breakfast.

For 2012 we’re introducing den-building kits, which are a perfect way to build yourself a woodland home here at Aller.

Where do I start with aller farm.I have to say for a bank holiday the weather wasn't great but emma and Nigle were just brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough for you.the safari tent looks amazing and is so spacious Inside, emma greeted us at our tent and had made a lemon cake and gave us a bottle of freshly squeezed apple juice, was such a nice touch to what was already a great start to a short break.

What you get for your money is just stress free bliss with lots to do for you and your family,we had a 2 month old and brought our dog.there are just miles of fields right outside for you to explore.you can help yourself to eggs from the hens you pass and you get a bag of free logs per night.no need to take duvet or cutlery as it's all provided, if you wanted to make it even more stress free they have food on site that is all locally resourced and you just take what you want and pay at the end of your holiday.

Aller farm is a dairy farm and on the Saturday we got a guided tour around the farm,we got to milk cows and feed the calf's,it was also really nice to find out about farming and how much work and effort goes into producing perfect milk.you can also sample some of the milk.(I wouldn't recommend young children try as there stomach aren't use it)

    Disliked:

There's nothing I disliked as aller farm is a stress free break with lovely hosts who are very accommodating.

I would of changed the weather as was raining and windy so didn't get to go out much.

There is no signal there what so ever!!!take games or cards with you
