Route directions

From the M5, take the exit onto the A30. Turn off the A30 at Whidden Down. Take the first right at the flyover. Turn immediately left (do not go back onto motorway). After approximately 1.5 miles, turn right at a white sign for Drewsteignton. Continue down to the bottom of the hill, you'll see a stone wall on your right-hand side, do not turn here. Follow to the end and you'll see a five-bar gate at the entrance to the farm.

Local attractions

The university and cathedral city of Exeter is 14 miles away, with its shops, many restaurants and river trips. It also has plenty of underground medieval passages built beneath the city centre dating back to the fourteenth century. Castle Drogo is close by with dramatic views over Dartmoor and great for a family day out. Crealy Adventure Park is recommended. For the energetic guests there is Go Ape! and many cycle paths at Haldon Forest, as well as Dartmoor National Park with countryside for riding or walking. Dartmoor also has a variety of cycle routes, both on and off-road, as well as horse riding, climbing, letterboxing, geocaching or kayaking. The Dartmoor landscape has heather-clad moorland, wide open landscapes, rivers and stone tors to explore as well as valleys, bogs, wetland, waterfalls, forests and lonely ruins. There are many National Trust properties within a short drive and the delightful village of Drewsteignton is just over a mile away. Cheriton Bishop is four miles away and Whiddon Down two miles away. A shop and pub are one mile away.
