  • Smart family-run park within Woodbury Common
  • Easy drive into Exeter
  • Excellent facilities including bar, bistro and play area

They say an Englishman’s (motor)home is his castle - so when choosing where to brake, you’ll want a spot that’s fit for a king. Castle Brake Holiday Park in East Devon should pass muster: it’s a smart, family-run park within the heathland of Woodbury Common, ideally placed for an invasion of Exeter and the sought-after sands of the Jurassic Coast.

The facilities are splendid: a spotless, cedar-clad amenities block with underfloor heating and family bathrooms; a laundry room; a cosy bar and bistro that serves up quality home-made nosh using local ingredients (takeaways are also available); a decent play area for the kids; and ample space for a peaceful stroll and a bit of wildlife spotting. (Please note that the bistro is not open every evening during low season.)

Castle Brake Holiday Park is within walking distance of the village of Woodbury, which has a handful of good pubs and shops, or it’s an easy ride into Exeter for anything else you might need.
