General

  • Award-winning family park close to Dawlish Warren
  • Indoor and outdoor pool, adventure playground, soft play, gym, sauna
  • Well-maintained shower and loo blocks

It’s an award winner, and it’s easy to see why – Devon’s Lady’s Mile near the Blue Flag beaches of Dawlish Warren has all that’s needed for ladies and gentlemen to pitch up. It’s had cracking reviews and full marks for location, cleanliness, facilities, customer service and more, and also has five-star scores for value for money.

And there’s more – Lady’s Mile also has an indoor and outdoor pool, an on-site restaurant, a bar, fab play areas for the kids including an adventure playground and soft play area, evening entertainment to croon along to, a takeaway and even a gym if you feel like working the calories off (or you could just decide to relax by the pool or in the sauna instead).

The showers and bath on site are fit for even the most ladylike lady, and there’s also a parent and baby washroom to keep the holiday grub off the smaller campers. Wifi access is available.

Whether you’re off site during your stay is another matter, although there are two pubs within a mile which might prove to be the motivation you need...

Very clean and family orientated. Entertainment was 5* with very friendly and nice staff. Food was a good standard in restaurant with its own little shop, pizza shop, fish and chips shop. Kids loved having there own "creditcard" to spend on food and at arcade. Lovely indoor and outdoor pool. Will be back next year.

    Disliked:

The only negative would be there isnt much choice in the arcade. Kids bored after 10mins.

The outside pool was good , toilet block was clean and where the park was situated was near to the shops and the beach

    Disliked:

When we arrived after a 6hr journey to find that you are not shown to a pitch and you have to find your own pitch this does not work in high season as we were driving around for another couple of hours trying to find a pitch which then we started to lose light when pitching the tent. The pitches need to be marshelled better as there were other holiday makers using more than one pitch when they should be within the lines. Its is a noisy site and feel more regular patrols around the park to inforce the rules better on an evening would be better to tell people to keep the music down or off after 12 midnight there were a couple of arguments that took place that i heared in the early hours of morning which sounded like they turned into fights you don't want to hear this on holiday . The pitches are on top of one another as well its like they are trying to get as many people on site as they can without a thought about how close you are to one another. Also and i know this is not the parks fault but the amount of childern around the park on scooters and bikes and in the middle of the road when cars are around is unreal but this is down to people parenting i suppose

The site was big and spaceous with lots of choice to pitch up. The area is great with lots of things to do outside of lady's mile. The swimming pools, shop and restaurant are exactly what you need within a campsite. Big clean toilet blocks and showers and also family bathrooms which were a great idea and a nice clean area to do washing up.

For me personally I found the club house just too crowded. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and thought we would let the kids enjoy the entertainment but it was so busy. Unsupervised Kids running about everywhere, under age drinking going on, drunk and noisy parents making a scene. Thought we would put the 1 year old in the soft play so he was safe but no way he could go in there as elder kids/teenagers running riot in there! It's a shame that my only problem was with the people. We ended up giving up and going back to the tent. I think they need a lot stricter security or maybe enforce a few of their rules. Don't get me wrong I love to have a drink and relax on holiday but some of these parents and their elder kids were just plain rude and shouty! Not my scene! For the rest of our stay we decided to stay clear of the clubhouse and do outside entertainment and we had a lovely time which is a shame as we paid for use of the club house and the entertainment but not the end of the world

Couldn't fault the site on its cleanliness nice clean showers & loos lovely staff but that's where it stops being good

Where to start !!!! Pitches too close we where crammed in like sardines no privacy very difficult to get in& out with the car. The road past our pitch was just used constantly by kids on scooters so noisy & noisy at night. The park was just ridiculous it was packed with older kids with no adult supervision who where just doing as they pleased very intimidating for the younger kids. Both pools where way over capacity due to the fact that not only people from the campsite who had paid over the odds for the privilege of having an indoor and outdoor pool but people from every other campsite where allowed for a fee to come and spend the day there and for the same reason there was no room in the club either. The entertainment in the club was shocking surly a site that charges as much as it does could afford to splash out on some proper entertainment & as for the prices of the drinks well that was just extortionate £4.75 for a bottle of cider that I could buy up the road at Sainsbury's for £1.90

Great family site, unfortunately we saw a young girl pulled out of the pool, but was bought back through CPR, the lifeguard who saved her deserves a medal, the swiftness of support by all the staff shows a fantastic emergency action plan. Entertainment for the children was good, good toilet and shower blocks. Nice clean tidy family site. Reasonable size pitches. Well stocked shop, Not ideal for a quiet holiday

Local attractions

Lady’s Mile is a site for the sea and sand lovers, as it’s only a mile from two beaches where you can surf, swim, sail or just laze and sunbathe.

Golf, fishing, horse riding and tennis are all nearby, or you could indulge in a spot of culture and wander around the nearby National Trust properties A la Ronde and Compton Castle.

Want something a little more likely to appeal to the kids? Pack them in the car and take them off to Crealy Great Adventure Park a short drive away, where they can go gaga on the rides or go wild in the indoor jungle.

They’ll also enjoy seeing the famous black swans along the Dawlish river, bumping along on the seafront railway, or just sticking close to the beach resort with its pirate-themed mini golf, go-karting, amusements and children’s rides.
