General

  • Award-winning family park close to Dawlish Warren
  • Indoor and outdoor pool, adventure playground, soft play, gym, sauna
  • Well-maintained shower and loo blocks

It’s an award winner, and it’s easy to see why – Devon’s Lady’s Mile near the Blue Flag beaches of Dawlish Warren has all that’s needed for ladies and gentlemen to pitch up. It’s had cracking reviews and full marks for location, cleanliness, facilities, customer service and more, and also has five-star scores for value for money.

And there’s more – Lady’s Mile also has an indoor and outdoor pool, an on-site restaurant, a bar, fab play areas for the kids including an adventure playground and soft play area, evening entertainment to croon along to from March to November, a takeaway and even a gym if you feel like working the calories off (or you could just decide to relax by the pool or in the sauna instead).

The showers and bath on site are fit for even the most ladylike lady, and there’s also a parent and baby washroom to keep holiday grub off smaller guests. Wifi access is available.

Whether you’re off site during your stay is another matter, although there are two pubs within a mile which might prove to be the motivation you need...

Large pitches in Beechway field that had an area of ... 13/08/2017

Large pitches in Beechway field that had an area of green space adjacent.

Family bathroom was good size and had good pressure.

Swimming pools were good, although only used indoor pool once.

    Sainsburys very close.

Variety if takeaway on site was good after a long day off site.

    Good size playground

    Disliked:

This was a much bigger site than we are used to, it was very crowded, not much open space and very noisy before the 11pm curfew.

The showers in the Beechway block were very low pressure, and at one point there was no water at all.
Not enough washing up sinks for the size of the site.

The pitches were a generous size and not too noisy. The location was great, close to beach and plenty to do near by with a short drive.

    Disliked:

Slides in the pool very slow, both kids had to push them selves down, only way to go down really is in a blow up tyre. Even our youngest 6yr old was dissapointed. Out door pool cold, again slide slow. Changing room in pool dirty and only a couple of showers in the gents, not enough for the amount of people in the pool. When paying a premium price for a campsite with pool you would expect it to be better than average and you wouldn't expect it to be open to the general public as well as the holiday park residents especially in high seasons. Wash facilities on site clean but very poor, taps didn't work one day at all, other days you had to hold down the tap with one hand and wash the other, then swap over to wash the other hand. Showers very weak,..when working! Entertainment might have been good apart from too crowded and could not see or get near to stage to watch. Kids disappointed.

    Disliked:

Cleanliness of outdoor poor was poor with a high number of insects in the water.

lack of motivation from the reception to follow through with a complaint made during our stay which was not resolved.

Frozen undercooked food from the restaurant and takeaway shop was hit and miss if it was fully cooked, resulting in myself becoming unwell during the stay.

Great site, shame about the unlevel pitches! 01/08/2017

Friendly staff and good services. Shower blocks clean and tidy. Lovely campsite with plenty to do for the children, which is why we returned again this year. Clubhouse always good and family entertainment is okay. Only downside was the unlevel pitch!

    Disliked:

Serious work needs to be done on the number of un-level pitches in some areas of the park. We picked a corner pitch (only one available) and we really struggled to get our caravan level. Perhaps pitch allocation would be better than just driving around to find availability, that way the touring caravan pitches could be levelled.

Shower blocks near the play fort need to have the shower heads replaced as the water trickled out.

  • Liked:

That the pitch was right next to the toilet and shower blocks. It was a flat pitch that was easy to pitch tent up.

Liked how the showers and toilets were cleaned daily.

Liked how dogs were allowed in the campsite and had to be kept on leads.

Liked how the fish and chip place the staff were friendly and smiling, which was nice, however the price of the food not so much!

    Disliked:

That there were children left to roam the campsite unattended, even into the roads where the cars were driving in and out to and from their pitch.

The majority of campers took up 2 pitches instead of one, for that reason it was difficult to find a suitable spot to pitch.

The neighbours were really noisy well past the 12pm ban for no noise that it stated on the notice board. Was kept up all night by our noisy neighbours.

Showers and toilets were OK, however in my opinion needs updating.

Didn't think much of the shop in the camp to be fair over priced and crammed with stuff not space to really walk around. looked unorganised.

I did not like the site. The fact that you could not reserve a numbered plot was not convenient as having to drive round and round with a 40 foot rig was stressful. Swimming pool was not big enough for volume of prople. Pitches very overcrowded with people taking up more soace than they dhoukd and yes many gazebos despite not supposed to have in August. Securities handling of vety noisy and abusive campers next door was pathetic - they should have been asked to leave. So no we will not return ir recommend. A vety expensive failure for us.

They’ll also enjoy seeing the famous black swans along the Dawlish river, bumping along on the seafront railway, or just sticking close to the beach resort with its pirate-themed mini golf, go-karting, amusements and children’s rides.
