General

  • Award-winning site a mile from the beach
  • Pools, pub, fish and chip shop, sauna, steam room and gym
  • Five private fishing lakes: bag a 24-pounder

Anyone who relishes a bit of variety on their holidays should give this award-winning site serious consideration: there are buckets and spades of activities for all ages, both on site and in the immediate vicinity. Tucked into a valley, and only a mile away from swathes of Blue Flag beaches, Cofton Holidays has 80 acres of meadows, orchards and woodland laced with nature trails for visitors to explore.

Cofton's indoor pool has massage jets and hydrotherapy bubble loungers, as well as a sauna, steam room and gym. A splash area with water jets will entertain the kids (a small additional charge applies to the pool, sauna, steam room and gym). With five private fishing lakes to choose from, there are abundant opportunities to bag a monster carp around here too: 24-pounders are not unknown (an EA rod licence is required plus a fishing permit from reception).

After these aquatic exertions, you can retire to the poolside patio of the Swan Inn for a refresher and a snack. The pub opens every night and serves up a good range of grub (breakfast and lunch are also available at weekends), plus regular entertainment including live bands, discos and karaoke in high season. Cofton also has its own fish and chip joint, as well as a shop for any vittles you might need.

Kids can bounce around in the three dedicated play areas or explore the adventure zone in the woods, with activities such as pond dipping and bug hunting laid on in season; if it’s raining, there’s also a games room with amusements and a pool table.

Wifi across the whole site (charges apply) means staying connected is simple, and it’s also worth mentioning that Cofton has excellent facilities for disabled visitors.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant, nothing too much trouble. The restaurants super food and so useful to be able to take our dogs into the Inn. The whole site is clean and very well kept. The shower and toilet block were v clean and tidy, also lovely and warm including hot water - super. The area is pretty we had lots of walks and wish we had more time to explore even more.

    Disliked:

The only very small thing - the dog walking field (which is v important to us as we have 3 dogs and was part of our decision to stay at Cofton) would be much better if totally fenced off, as part of the fencing at the bottom had fallen down and there was a path at the top of the field leading into woodland which was open be really nice if there was a gate here to ensure the field was secure. Thank you for this lovely facility.

We were very impressed with Cofton Holidays site and everything that it had to offer. From the start of our stay the staff were very helpful and professional, they even drove us to our pitch so that we didn't get lost! The facilities (toilets and shower cubicles etc) were kept clean and tidy at all times which was particularly important as we stayed during a very rainy and muddy weekend! We felt that the prices of the bars and cafes on site were very reasonable and the food was delicious- its so handy having the fish and chip takeaway too which, again, is well priced. There seemed to be so much for children to do- there is a kids club, a decent arcade with a mini bowling alley inside and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and we are very keen to come back again soon!
