If you know a youngster who can’t get enough of all things JCB, then grab your hard hat and steel cap boots and whisk them away to Diggerland Campsite - just a two-minute walk from the incredible Diggerland theme park.

Devonshire’s beautiful Verbeer Manor is home to this spacious, family-friendly campsite and its flat green grounds provide the perfect place to pitch with your avid little digger enthusiast before they embark on a day of digging and digger-driving fun at the neighbouring theme park. The level tent pitches have optional electric hook-up and are large, sheltered and well-drained, making for a easy camping experience for all - just what you need for that comfortable (and much-needed) night’s sleep after an exhausting day becoming a digging pro at the park. The campsite has a toilet and shower block.

Diggerland does exactly as it says on the tin - a unique theme park where children (and adults - yes, we want in too) can hop aboard a variety of digger-themed rides including the Sky Shuttle and Spin Dizzy. But, best of all, you can sit in your very own six-ton digger and dig, dig, dig away (height restrictions apply). All machinery has an expert accompanying young park guests while they’re aboard the diggers who will ensure safety and provide plenty of information that Bob the Builder himself would be proud of.

The campsite is surrounded by trees, overlooks the very best of Devon’s countryside, and has plenty on offer in the nearby area - you and the kids are sure to dig it.

Local attractions

Are you ready for bucketloads of fun? Well, you've come to the right place. We are located adjacent to Devon’s Diggerland, the theme park where adults and children can ride, drive and operate real construction machinery (please note that rides require a minimum height of 90cms).

Children will love jumping aboard sky-high rides and operating real diggers (and more), and they don’t even need a driving licence! They can ask the expert staff anything and everything they've ever wanted to know about diggers, dig the dirt themselves, explore the play zones, play in the sandpits - the options are endless. All you need to do is sit back and relax (and envisage the landscape garden your newly-trained construction worker will rustle up for you one day) could even take to the dare-devil digger-themed rides yourself. The kids can bring their pocket money for the coin-operated rides available too.

Pack a picnic to enjoy on the tables and benches around this unique outdoor park or dig in to the meals available from the food outlets on site. Digger clothing and mementos can be picked up from the gift shop at the end of your day - you only have to carry everything the two-minute walk back to Diggerland Campsite too. Although perhaps don’t remind the children or you may need a digger for assistance...

Diggerland is open at weekends, on bank holidays and on weekdays during the main local school holiday periods. It is closed on weekdays during school term time.

Digger Lakes in the Culm Valley offers quality carp fishing and has great lakes to choose from including Snails Lake and Persey's Pool. All have been carefully stocked to accommodate the different needs of the everyday angler. The prices are £10 an adult for 12 hours and £8 a child for 12 hours.
