Keen on crafty hols? Get your arty fix at Forged Earth Camping, spread across 12 acres of a Cornwall working farm, 15 minutes’ drive from Bude and Holsworthy.
This is the place for those happy to get hands dirty – it's home to a craft retreat, so guests have access to pottery and welding workshops for quick tasters or longer courses. If you've got your eye on something different, the owners can also provide a list of local arts and crafts workshops – from mosaics to bone carving – to keep hands busy.
Away from the crafts, this is a prime spot for explores – the scenic coastline is about 15 minutes away by car, putting the beaches of Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven and Bude within easy reach, as well as strolls on the South West Coast Path.
For a few hours off from activity, stay on site for animal encounter hours where a private guide will help you walk goats, bottle-feed calves, brush ponies and stroke pigs. Alternatively, just settle down to listen to acoustic music (there’s a no-stereos rule here) and take in the views over the Ruby Country fields. Watch the sun go down over the horizon, then relax by the campfire and look to the skies for some stargazing.
The site's pitches are well-spaced and mown into the field for a bit of privacy. The field has three flushing toilets, a portaloo and a washing-up area, and a short walk up the field takes you to another flushing toilet, two electric showers and a mini shop, all of which are scrubbed clean twice daily.

Local attractions
Stay close to base with wanders around local towns – Holsworthy (15-minute drive) has a museum of local history, and just outside the town is Dunsland, an old manor house and parkland (fab for a picnic). Swap greens for blues in Bude (15 minutes), home to beaches, surfing, watersports and seafood restaurants.
A spattering of amusement parks should entertain the gang: Trethorne Leisure Park (25 minutes), Hidden Valley Discovery Park (25 minutes), Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre (half an hour) and Milky Way Adventure Park (35 minutes).
Pretty villages aren’t hard to find here: scenic Boscastle is half an hour away, as is the coastal village of Tintagel, home of the spectacular Tintagel Castle. For a glimpse of times gone by, head to Clovelly (35 minutes), a working fishing village with cobbled streets, donkeys and a historic harbour.

No refunds within 1 week of arrival date.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.
