General
- Small, informal and friendly site with space and privacy
- Woodland and field setting with individual campfire pits
- In a rural and peaceful setting three miles from St Ives
Get down to St Ives Farm if you fancy good old-fashioned Cornish stays, on a small, rural and back-to-basics site where campfires blaze of an evening in a woodland and fields setting. This is a mighty friendly place where previous guests wax most lyrical about the amiable and helpful approach of owner Sarah and the site team: there's a reason why many come back year after year…
Toilets, a shower and a freshwater tap are available on site, but this place has a full old-school holiday vibe, and Sarah ensures a nicely informal feel for families and couples, accommodating only a small number of guests to avoid overcrowding and to ensure spacious pitches with plenty of privacy. Each accommodation area has its own designated campfire pit as well: campfire and Cornwall under the stars? Pass the cider.
Although this is a rural and peaceful site, the farm is a handy base for getting around Cornwall: it's only three miles from arty Cornwall centre St Ives and two from Carbis Bay's award-winning safe beach. Pass the paintbox and the surfboard…

Local attractions
Top Cornish attractions are easily to hand from here: the old mines of Geevor and Poldark, as well as the thoroughly modern attractions of Flambards Theme Park, are all reachable in half an hour or so's drive. Further afield, fab Falmouth is 50 minutes away and the famed Eden Project, just outside St Austell, is just over an hour from the farm.
You also won't have much trouble finding coastal walks, miles of beaches and heaps of opps for surfing, sunbathing, sailing, fishing and diving, while each Cornish coastal town along the way will have cafés, shops and restaurants. You should also carve out some time for a hike on the splendid and scenic South West Coast Path: start off from St Ives St and ramble around St Ives Bay, towards Hayle and on to famed Godrevy Head and its lighthouse.
Newquay Zoo (45 minutes' drive), the Blue Reef Aquarium (50 minutes) and Truro (40 minutes) with cathedral, shops and Royal Cornwall Museum are other popular picks. Also aim for magnif St Michael's Mount and medieval castle in Mount's Bay at Marazion, 15 minutes away, and an evening of dramatics at the fab Minack Theatre, within 35 minutes' drive.
