We do like those parks which have been run by the same family for generations and those who have been welcoming campers and caravanners for decades. Pensagillas Park, at Cornwall’s St Austell, has oodles of park pride which provides a pristine place for pitching up.
Pensagillas has been run by the Kent family for six generations and has had campers and caravanners staying here since 1970; it’s all looked after and laid out to be tidy and attractive, with trees, hedging, shrubs and a tarmac roadway connecting the grass meadows. The tent, tourer and motorhome pitches are in a five-acre field at the end of a private drive, with Cornish countryside views to hand anywhere you pitch up.
Once you’ve sorted your berth, have a stroll around the park meadows and woodlands, give an enthusiastic greeting to the farm animals or explore the farmland at the other end of the private drive beside the camping field: there are footpaths leading from here as well as fields to wander. And bring your rod: there’s an old mill with stream on site for contemplative casting off (and/or picnics), and a two and a half acre coarse fishing lake on site to land roach, tench, golden rudd and carp of up to 28lb.
Pitches at Pensagillas Park come with a choice of electric hook-up and there’s fresh water close by; the well-maintained shower block comes with covered outside areas for washing-up and a laundry room with washers and dryers. Wifi is available on site.
During high season, there’s a takeaway and a cosy bar serving beer and cider, with more tipples and food available in the local village a couple of miles away.

Use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together when booking multiple pitches: the campsite or park will try to grant your request.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.
