General

  • Excellent fishing opportunities
  • Close to Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project
  • On-site facilities including outdoor heated pool and Cosy Cafe

Meadow - tick. Lakes - tick. But there’s much more behind the name: the general gorgeousness of said meadows and lakes, for a start, and the fact that guests can fish the teeming waters at zero charge. There are four coarse fishing lakes to choose from at Meadow Lakes, stocked with everything from carp to eels - just pick up a permit from reception before you get going, and make sure there’s an adult with any under 16s.

Then there are the friendly donkeys and goats waiting to greet you; the lovely outdoor heated pool, open from late May to early September, with a separate splash pool for little ones. And that’s before getting started on the rest of the facilities which include indoor and outdoor play areas, a dedicated area for dog walking, WIFI, the 'Cosy Cafe' serving delicious snacks and drinks, plus an onsite shop and launderette.

Please note

Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 31/05 and 01/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Please be aware that you would require your own transport as there is no bus stops outside the park. Also taxis can be very expensive.

Meadow Lakes is a family site. We also do not permit groups of four or more under 25s via Pitchup.com.

Spacious, friendly 18/09/2017

Generous pitches, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice open air playground as well as an indoors playroom for children. Although we travelled without children, this is absolutely a bonus for this camping so children have enough room to play.
Toilets and showers are cleaned regularly. If muddy it is due to the weather and the people that use the facilities, not to the personnel.

    Disliked:

Pitches are not always level. Could do with more shower / toilets, but in separate building blocks. The combined shower toilet block gets dampened in peak moments in the morning and evening.

Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff, good fishing 18/09/2017

Fishing was excellent, facilities quite good bearing in mind it was end of season.

Toilet / shower block excellent, very clean and well looked after.

    Ample drinking water stations

Good access to all parts of the site.

    Excellent dog walking field

    Disliked:

Having one centralised toilet block meant quite long walk for some pitches

We were in plot 30 which proved to be very soft ground had to re-level the caravan every other day. This was awkward on the sloping site and resulted in having to re-set the awning as well. My caravan was founded on 300mm x 300mm x 75mm thick out rigger mats. On the low side of the plot, these out rigger mats sank in the full 75mm depth giving an idea of the softness of the ground.
It was disappointing when we booked the holiday no hard standing pitches were available, this proved not to be the case when we actually arrived and set up on plot 30.

Well managed and thoughtful campsite with dutiful, friendly staff. Good facilities and enveloped by a beautifully sculpted Cornish vista. Kids loved it we loved.

    Disliked:

Although the toilet blocks were clean and showers hot and comforting. Could have used somewhere to put clothes off the floor while in the shower cubicle.

Good views, spacious pitch, pool a let down 31/08/2017

Good site overall. Great shop. Beautiful views. Good location.
Kids loved the the house slide and zip wire. Pitch was on a slight slope directly in front of the park perfect for us to sit and watch them play with a gorgeous view in the background. If course there were many parents who did not supervise their children which brings tears on your doorstep and unwanted behaviours but not a fault of the site and happens anywhere peak season. The animal corner was cute and visit from the ponies around the site was nice. The staff were helpful but not consistent with information due to training ongoing. Nice size pitches. Would go back.

    Disliked:

    Pool poor. Cafe pointless.
Kids loved the the house slide and zip wire. The toilets/showers were clean in the main block with good facilities. However the pool was a let down it looks much more picturesque from photos but it's since been enclosed with fencing and surrounding sunbathing area is smaller. It was unwelcoming when we went with wet tissue/mucky paving slabs. Plus the Cafe not shown on pool photo is behind the pool but not accessible for refreshments. The slots are booked by the hour whereby a wristband is required and entry code. The cafe has restricted opening times so not gaining the business it could peak season. The swimming pool showers is communal wet room cubicals with bad drainage so becomes off putting quickly, not enough hooks for belongings, no hairdryer or mirrors and overall not pleasant when we went. Games room could be more welcoming.

Lovely laid out site with tents/caravans around the edge of green mini fields. Clean site, plenty of water and facilities, nice pool, friendly staff and the animals especially the Shetland ponies were to die for.

    Disliked:

First thing on a morning after a night of use, the toilet/shower block wasn't the most cleanest of places. However it is not the camping sites fault at all when people get an upset stomach and don't flush and clean the loo behind them! Yuk. Needless to say, there were plenty of no touch soap dispensers for washing hands afterwards.
