  • On-site facilities including outdoor heated pool and Cosy Cafe
Meadow - tick. Lakes - tick. But there’s much more behind the name: the general gorgeousness of said meadows and lakes, for a start, and the fact that guests can fish the teeming waters at zero charge. There are four coarse fishing lakes to choose from at Meadow Lakes, stocked with everything from carp to eels - just pick up a permit from reception before you get going, and make sure there’s an adult with any under 16s. Then there are the friendly donkeys and goats waiting to greet you; the lovely outdoor heated pool, open from late May to early September, with a separate splash pool for smaller guests. And that’s before getting started on the rest of the facilities which include indoor and outdoor play areas, a dedicated area for dog walking, wifi, the 'Cosy Café' serving delicious snacks and drinks, plus an on-site shop and launderette.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Easy to find and access good.

Disliked: Too far from toilets and facilities. No signs for toilets. Couldn't find them. Then were locked! Water tap also too far. Seems non electric camping touring pitches are not important enough to look after. Eventually found shower block in another field... No signs. Toilets and showers in same cubicle so had to wait for people to finish showering to have a wee! NEVER again will I stay here.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Loads of space , lovely site , friendly staff. Good pool and excellent fishing lakes. It’s always been a great site. We’ve been visiting for years.

Disliked: Toilets , drinking water and washing up facilities are so far away from non electric field. Feel the touring side has been neglected the last couple of years :(

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Enjoyed our stay, just out of season so plenty of space. Showers and toilets near by and kept clean and tidy.

Disliked: Clearer signage on the main road approaching the site. The sat nav takes you to another turn off which does have a small sign but if a distance to entrance was added this would be so much better and avoid vehicles having to tun around thinking they have missed the entrance.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful setting especially the lakes. Kids loved the play park and the play barn.

Disliked: Toilets seemed a long way away from touring pitches (tricky when you’re travelling alone with small children). Not much choice of food on offer at the cafe. Expensive for what was on offer.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Great facilities! Decent shower and toilet block perfect for families as you can all fit in one private en-suite style room. Outdoor swimming pool, soft play, loads of animals! The kids loved it! Easy access to north cornwall.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The play barn was great for the children.

Disliked: As we were on non-electric pitches, we were placed as far from the outdoor play area as possible, our children didn't even know it was there. The welcome was not warm and they didn't explain that the advertised animals etc are only available for petting on two days a week, bookable in advance- the children were disappointed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: - Large pitch spaces - 10Amp electricity - Excellent fishing ponds - Friendly staff; really willing to help. - The swimming pool was really nice, and never crowded. - Excellent wifi reception

Disliked: - Distance to toilets and showers is quite large and an uphill walk. - Due to the showerheads being fixated to the wall, no-one can really wash away sand and soap in the shower. Overall this leads to an unclean feel. - Waterpressure is quite low in the showers. - The swimming area had 3 pools (larger pool, small pool, hottub) of which only the larger pool was in use. In essence this campsite has all the ingredients to become a real nice campsite; but at this moment it is missing the mark. This price/quality is disbalanced at this moment.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Spacious pitch, close to amenities. Toilets in good condition and clean. Kids loved the pool and games room. Older ones enjoyed the fishing lakes.

Disliked: Would be good to have a change machine in the games room
