Quiet location, the weekend before summer holidays meant we were the only ones at our end of the campsite. Lovely!

Clean facilities, good workings toilets and shower rooms. Shop with the everyday essentials and playground for kids to muck about on. Large pool great fun for kids!

EXTREMELY friendly staff! Cannot fault them.

The park was clean and tidy with easy access but a little to far from town.

    Disliked:

We found that the toilet and shower facilities were dated and needed upgrading.
We are from New Zealand and were amazed there were no kitchen or laundry areas of which are standard in our motor camps. We have noticed that this is consistent with other camps we have stayed in during our stay in the uk. To attract more from our part of the world they all need modernising.

From the manager...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, There is a laundry and washing up area to the rear of the shower block.

Good clean toilet facilities , a bit dated. Staff were friendly , a nice site with trees and well kept pitches.

    Disliked:

Pitches were very close to one another , you can hear dogs barking from a kennel in the distance , had to have a card to get in and out of site with a 10£ deposit.

There is a dog kennels in the next field they were constantly barking day & night.
A busy duel carriage way the other side. Could not sleep with the noise from both or relax around the tent.
The toilets were clean but not tidy, there was an old pair of children's swimming shorts on our pitch plus a used plaster & a few other bits of paper just left there.
Our pitch was close to two drain manholes one of which the outer cement was cracked so you imagine the smell the wind carried. Would not stay again in fact we had booked for 7 nights but only stayed for 2 which was more than enough I would advise to book else where.

The staff were polite and friendly. They were also very helpful throughout our stay. The campsite is secure day and night which I liked. The shower/toilet block were clean and very good to use. There is free wifi onsite which was great as phone signal was poor in places. The location was ideal as its in the middle of Penzance, Padstow, Newquay and Lands End so not far to travel to enjoy some lovely days out. The swimming pool was clean, warm and quite refreshing after a hot day. The play area for the kids was a good size to accommodate lots of children. My kids had so much fun on there and many a few holiday friends during our stay.

    Disliked:

If I'm honest it's hard to pinpoint any dislikes to this place. If one thing could be improved, it could be the wifi signal at the far end of the campsite as where we pitched up, the wifi would drop in and out constantly so you have to walk closer to the shower block to access it. Part from that, all good.

Considering the very reasonable pitch price we thought this site was excellent value for money and a great location for getting around Cornwall. The facilities were not the most modern but we're perfectly adequate and always clean and tidy. Some beautiful weather meant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at wheal rose.

Nice sized pitch with optional electricity, fresh water access equally spaced, toilet and shower facilities nice and clean, handy little shop with bare essentials and secure barrier. Liked the fact that the waste skips were off the main site and near the entrance so no wasps or bees were encouraged during the hot weather. Pleasant pool that was heated.

    Disliked:

The sound of dogs barking constantly from a nearby dog kennels.
