General
- Peaceful park near the north Cornwall coast
- Spotless facilities and a friendly helpful team
- Bar and restaurant on site with outside terrace
Ah, what a gorgeous spot is the north Cornwall coast. Surfing at Portreath then hiking on to Porthtowan or Godrevy via the South Coast Path, foraging mussels off the rocks at Trebarwith Strand, tramping around the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Site of St Agnes with its towering beacon… this paragraph was brought to you by the theme 'wistful'.
North Cornwall for you too? Get the best of all its worlds at peaceful and friendly Globe Vale Holiday Park, a Cornish countryside site a few miles from the coast at Portreath and Porthtowan. Cornish coast views – and the St Agnes Beacon – are viewable from your pitch, as you'll see from the superly scenic site pics…
Back from viewing the superly scenic site pics? Trot along to the comfy Globe Vale bar and restaurant with outside terrace to bask on during sunny summer evenings (there's some undercover seating too), handily set right opposite the kids' play area and serving homemade food for eating in or taking away. It's open during peak periods from May to September and has a kids' menu available, as well as a games room with pool table and darts.
The amenities, kept immaculate by the hard-working team, include separate areas for ladies and gents, a disabled shower room and loo, a separate family shower room, undercover washing-up areas, wetsuit washing-off areas, a launderette and a well-stocked shop. A large supermarket is about five minutes' drive away for extra supplies.
Wifi hotspots are across the site too, with wifi passes available at reception.

From the A30, take the exit signposted Redruth, go up the slip road to the roundabout. Take the third exit for Porthtowan/Portreath/North Country. Turn right at the crossroads signposted Radnor and follow the signs for the Globe Vale Holiday Park. After approximately 1/2 mile, turn left opposite The Old Chapel (at sign for Globe Vale). Follow the road to park entrance.
Local attractions
Globe Vale Holiday Park is close to the A30 so you can be out, about and on your way to Cornwall's best in a holiday jiffy.
Truro is about 20 minutes' drive away dependent on traffic and very well worth an afternoon's moseying about to see its cathedral and wander around its many independent shops (the Truro farmers' market is every Wednesday and Saturday on Lemon Quay).
Sticking to pedal power, the Mineral Tramway cycle path can be accessed right outside Globe Vale and runs all the way to Devoran near Falmouth on the south coast from its starting point at Portreath. It's a 14-mile and mostly traffic-free trail and so is a very nifty way to see the Cornish countryside; bikes can be hired near Globe Vale.
For hitting the surf, nearby Portreath and Porthtowan are both top surf spots and are also popular with families of all ages who come to Cornwall to sunbathe/rockpool.
Both beaches have car parking, nearby bars, cafés and shops, and easy access to the South West Coast Path (the 3.7 mile tramp from one to t'other is mighty purty). More top surfing can be had at Newquay, Perranporth, St Ives and Penzance within a short drive.
Natch you'll want a souvenir of your north Cornwall holiday, so mine the opportunities at Cornwall Gold Centre on the Portreath Road, where the family can buy gold, silver and pearl jewellery, pan for gold, try their hands at pottery or teddy bear making, and putter around the miniature golf course.
