- Relaxed, friendly and dog-friendly site five miles from Land's End
- Plenty of space and summer bar with conservatory and beer garden
- Hot showers, shop, play area and launderette
If ‘Cornish retreat’ were in the dictionary, it might well be beside a pic of Roselands Caravan and Camping Park… This relaxed and friendly little gem of a site is hidden away among hundreds of acres of west Cornish countryside five miles from Land’s End and six from Penzance, and has a carefully chosen number of select pitches to make sure things don’t get too crowded.
Roselands shies away from noisy entertainment, but still has stuff to do on site for all ages – a bar with large conservatory and beer garden is open in high season and the park also has a TV room, games room and a children’s outdoor play area.
It’s only a few minutes’ drive from the best of Cornwall’s activities and attractions: the clifftop Minack theatre, sunbathing at Sennen Cove, climbing, cycling, golfing, surfing, horse riding, birdwatching… And walkies. Lots and lots of walkies: Roselands is near the South West Coast Path and is firmly dog-friendly (pooch Archie lives on site and well-behaved dogs are allowed in some of the holiday homes).
You’ll find yourself gently warmed up in spring and autumn at Roselands too, as its west Cornish climate and Gulf Stream influence mean early springs and late summers, often with the sun shining well into October. Guests come here in spring and autumn to take advantage of low season prices: wildflowers carpet the surrounding countryside in spring, while autumn is when birdwatchers flock to the nearby Isles of Scilly which sees some of the rarest birds in Europe make a pit stop.
The owners/wardens live on site and ensure that standards are kept immaculate, with pitches set among scenic shrubs and flowers. Amenities are bang up to date too, with free hot showers, a shop and a laundry room with washing machines, tumble dryers and ironing facilities.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

West Cornwall is now within easy travelling distance for many families. Major road improvements in the West Country have cut still further the time it takes to reach this most beautiful area of Britain.
From the A30 Penzance bypass, turn right for St Just on the A3071, and keep on that road for five and a half miles. Half a mile before reaching the village of St Just, turn left at the 800 yards camping sign.
History, clifftop walks, spectacular scenery and some of the best surfing in the country are all accessible within five or ten minutes’ drive from Roselands Caravan Park.
From the park itself, you can see the Isles of Scilly, a collection of around 140 islands off Cornwall’s south-western coast. Five of the Scilly Isles are still habited and one, Tresco (population 180), has the sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Gardens. (If you don’t want to travel so far, palm trees and other sub-tropical plants are fairly common all over south and west Cornwall because of the mild climate).
Also within a few miles of Roselands you’ll reach the Bronze Age settlement Cape Cornwall, the county’s second most westerly point (after Land’s End); the popular family-friendly sands of Sennen Cove, and the Atlantic swells off Whitesands Bay, said to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country.
Some miles to the south Cornish coast, Penzance and its surroundings have several stretches of sand worth stretching out on and surfing from, including easily accessible from town Longrock and family-friendly Marazion.
Relics from Cornwall’s ancient and modern history are also within five minutes’ drive: the well-preserved ancient village of Carn Euny was occupied from the Iron Age until late Roman times and there are several other English Heritage sites in the area including Bronze Age and cliff-edge Ballowall Barrow, the Tregiffian Burial Chamber and the Iron Age settlement of Chyauster Ancient Village, all within five miles of Carn Euny.
More modernly, make your way north from Roselands to the Levant Mine and Beam Engine near St Just, the only Cornish beam engine in the world still steaming away.
Finally, take a full day at Land’s End to scramble about, snap some shots, picnic and pose for one of those pics at the famous signpost. The visitor centre has a list of walks around Land’s End and there’s an RSPB Wildlife Discovery Centre (seasonal opening) on the cliff path below the signpost.
