  • Beach heaven for fans of sand and saltwater
  • Park or pitch up across 27 acres of parkland
  • Clean on-site amenities and a well-stocked licensed shop
'Seven Bays for Seven Days' is the tempting proposition at Atlantic Bays Holiday Park near Padstow, aka Beach Heaven. Whether you’re into surfing, rockpooling or sand castles, you’ll be made up with the sandtastic choice of beaches within a couple of miles of this serene, green site. There are grassy pitches in a range of sizes for tents, with electric hook-ups available, plus great new hardstandings for tourers, RVs and campervans, either fully serviced or simply with electricity - spread across 27 acres of parkland. All the necessities in life are perfectly taken care of via a high-spec amenities block complete with hairdryers and ironing boards, a new laundry room and a well-stocked licensed shop. There's also a games room with slots, a pool table open in the evenings and a family bar open every weekend and all summer season. When the kids aren't at the beach, they'll love burning off some energy in the on-site play area, while in high season you can pre-order your newspapers at reception to ensure you miss nothing while you're away.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Location - easy access to loads of places (by car)

Disliked: Small pitches- very tight to fit caravan and car side by side Cold shower block half the showers were out of action. Pitches & paths water logged. I appreciate that the rain has been never ending lately but for some people they had to wear wellies even on the hard standing area around their caravan because it was so watered logged. Loud bangs (I assume was a crow scarer) started very early & went off throughout the day constantly frightened our dogs. No club house and although they put on outdoor entertainment I feel this should have been made clear when booking (clubhouse still had Christmas Decorations up so it was never going to be open at Easter) and this should have been reflected in the price.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, clean showers and toilets

Disliked: Waterlogged pitch ,no advertised facilities eg club house restaurant, dog walk. Not close to anywhere, 4.5miles from nearest town 3.5miles from nearest supermarket ,not close to beaches and very annoying bird scarer banging every half-hour or so

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly staff, large pitch

Disliked: No food or drink available as roof had been damaged in a storm several months ago on restaurant/bar building I wasn't aware until we arrived which meant we had to go out all the time to eat. The pitch was gravel but a 1/3 was under an inch or more of water I appreciate there was a lot of rain but nothing seemed to be happening to clear the affected pitches, there were a lot. Part of the road was also flooded. No lighting on the site at night which is not good going to showers/toilets not ideal especially for women. Disabled toilets not cleaned for 2 days. Dog friendly but dog walking area was closed. We have stayed here before but standards have fallen drastically. Would not stay here again unless there are major changes

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very clean toilets and showers, large site close to fabulous beaches.

Disliked: Not really anything only to say it was very early in the season so nothing was open on the site not that it bothered us but If travelling as a family maybe check before booking on what is open on site.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Pitch was good nice and flat. We were out near the loo and shower block so didn’t have far to go. Was so quiet slept well

Disliked: When we booked we seen that a few things were in walking distance but actually they aren’t and it’s very unsafe to walk to nearest village. Site had a lot of rubbish around which is a shame. The bar and restaurant was closed so unless we drove there was no where to get food. Think in the welcome pack should include takeaway numbers, taxi numbers & bus timetable. I get that it’s out of season but there was nothing close by unless to drive to them. It definitely needs an undate. We would like to come back maybe in the summer maybe things will be better

Local attractions

Those who like to stay within walking distance can make merry in St Merryn, just a mile from Atlantic Bays Holiday Park, home to a handful of pubs and restaurants, plus a chippie and various shops. The site staff will be happy to help with restaurant reservations if needed. Gourmets, however, will want to make a beeline for the fishing village of Padstow three miles away, famous for its concentration of Rick Stein eateries and shops, and a pretty place to visit to boot. If you want to take up the 'Seven Bays for Seven Days' challenge, you’ll be ticking off some of Cornwall’s best family beaches, such as Harlyn Bay and Porthcothan Beach, but if the weather’s not up to much, there’s no shortage of fun things to do for all ages in nearby Newquay and beyond. The popular Crealy Great Adventure Park is only a couple of miles away too, and has an huge indoor area for tots to teens on top of all the outdoor thrills and spills.
