General

  • Scenic and award-winning site filled with flowers
  • Two lakes for coarse fishing, nature reserve and café
  • Heated pool, crazy golf, playgrounds, games room and licensed shop

This fabulously floral site has been giving trevellas a warm welcome for more than 50 years. The grounds are blooming lovely – even the fishing lakes are filled with lilies – and it’s easy to see why Trevella Park is a regular winner of the Newquay in Bloom contest, and why so many people come back here every summer.

Little buds can shoot around the heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, crazy golf, games room and playgrounds for different ages, and the TV room is stocked with kids' films for drizzly days. There’s free coarse fishing in the two lakes and a pretty nature reserve to explore, plus a café, takeaway food, and a licensed shop.

The roomy pitches sit within handsome parkland and the high quality amenities include family bathrooms, baby changing and a laundry room.

This site is a member of Bridge Leisure Parks group.

Lovely green space with quite a few things to occupy yourself including two calm fishing lakes, swimming pools and an arcade with a pool table. The shop has a selection of useful products for camping and BBQs along with nice food and drink. Plus the site is situated very close to the neighbouring towns and beautiful beaches and so very easy to explore.

    Disliked:

Restaurant was not opened for cream teas in the afternoon. Both days went walking to come back to site for well deserved cream tea only to find the restaurant closes at 2pm and reopens at 5pm. Prefer to have cream tea mid afternoon. Went to the shop for cream but none available, also very limited supply of ice-cream. A little disappointed with that but next time we will make sure we bring our own supplies.

The fact that the site was in Newquay with easy access to all places of interest

    Disliked:

The fact we had to pay for our dog again,we are sure it was on booking we take him everywhere with us.The so called resturant was not open half the time due to the fact the park was not busy, when it was open prices were through the roof and quality of food was not good

From the manager...

Dear John,
From us at Trevella, we are very sorry you felt the issue with the charge for the dog was our fault and it is disappointing for us that you felt that this detracted from your stay with us.
Our restaurant is open from 8am for breakfast until 11am or 2pm on Friday and Saturdays
In the evenings it is open from 5pm - 8pm. Which will extend until 9pm in peak season. We have a great selection of Main meals starting at £4.79 and the most expensive being £8.99 including a variety of burgers, salads, vegetarian options and freshly baked pizzas. Feedback is very important to us and we will investigate as to why you felt the food wasn't up to our usual standards.
We hope these two factors don't prevent you from returning.
Kind regards,
Jenny

Directions

From the north:
Leave the M5 at Junction 31 onto the A30 towards Bodmin/Okehampton. Travel west on the A30 past the Victoria interchange. At the next exit, leave the A30 and head straight forward onto the slipway. Enter the roundabout and leave at the third exit onto the A39.

Stay on the A39 for 0.87 miles, then enter the roundabout at Halloon and leave at the second exit onto the A392, signposted Newquay. Stay on the A392 for 5.97 miles, then enter the roundabout and leave at the first exit onto the A3075. Stay on the A3075 for 0.25 miles, then leave it and turn right into an unclassified road, signposted Crantock.

(If you are in Newquay, take the A3075 to Redruth for 1.5 miles until you see the Crantock signpost. If you are approaching from the west you will see Crantock signposted from the A3075.)

Follow this road for one mile to the T-junction sign to Newquay, where you turn right and then into the Trevella Park entrance.

Local attractions

A quick meander along the verdant country lanes and pathways around Trevella can lead in various directions: a historic smugglers’ inn, a beach, Crantock’s thatched cottages and pretty village church, or to the Gannel Estuary to fish, paddle, birdwatch or make the short hop on the ferry to Newquay. The latter probably needs no introduction, but on top of its famous beaches, it has a zoo, aquarium, farm park, boating lake and miniature railway – plus swimming pools (with flumes) and golf courses.

This being Cornwall, visitors will find no shortage of ace attractions less than an hour away. Recommendations include losing oneself in the gardens at Heligan, taking in an atmospheric show at the open air Minack Theatre, on the cliffs overlooking the sea; heading into the Eden Project’s massive crater, to examine the exotic flora in the jaw-dropping megadomes; and some painterly perusal at the Tate Gallery in St Ives.

Then there are adventure parks, National Trust properties and open gardens galore; plus a lively programme of local land- and sea-based events, from festivals to carnivals, and regattas to traditional Cornish gig racing.

Must see

  • Blue Reef Aquarium (1.4 miles)
  • Newquay Zoo (1.5 miles)
  • Fistral Beach (1.5 miles)
