General

  • Scenic and award-winning site filled with flowers
  • Two lakes for coarse fishing, nature reserve and café
  • Heated pool, crazy golf, playgrounds, games room and licensed shop

This fabulously floral site has been giving trevellas a warm welcome for more than 50 years. The grounds are blooming lovely – even the fishing lakes are filled with lilies – and it’s easy to see why Trevella Park is a regular winner of the Newquay in Bloom contest, and why so many people come back here every summer.

Little buds can shoot around the heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, crazy golf, games room and playgrounds for different ages, and the TV room is stocked with kids' films for drizzly days. There’s free coarse fishing in the two lakes and a pretty nature reserve to explore, plus a café, takeaway food, and a licensed shop.

The roomy pitches sit within handsome parkland and the high quality amenities include family bathrooms, baby changing and a laundry room.

This site is a member of Bridge Leisure Parks group.

This is large well run site with good facilities in a Good location for Crantock with its fabulous beach-we did the estuary walk direct from the site into the village, which was very easy if a bit muddy!
The staff were all friendly and helpful and the on site takeaway was a relief on on first night of arrival
The toilets and dishwashing areas were spotlessly clean, although the nearest ladies loo was currently being refurbished so the facilities were temporarily communal! (there were other single sex facilities a short walk away if you preferred)

excellent facilities, lovely campsite, friendly staff.

well spaced pitches available, not squashed next to another pitch.

    Disliked:

shower facilities are somewhat outdated, cracked tiles and leaking pipes etc, however, there was work being done on one of the units, so perhaps they are having a refurbishment?

Showers are super powerful. Amenities are close to all pitches. Shop is well stocked and reasonably priced.

    Disliked:

Washing facilities could do with more space or a shelf to place your belongings on.
Currently one set of toilets is having a refurbishment. Don’t understand why this couldn’t have been done during closed season? Didn’t really like communal toilets (male and female)

The price was very reasonable for the facilities that were on offer. the size of our pitch was very big so there was plenty of space. Our pitch was very close to nearby facilities.

    Disliked:

Although I found the shower block very easy to use, I didn’t like the fact that when I was in the shower (no one else was in the block) the lights went off (due to them being sensitive to movement) so I had to shower in the dark. I also thought the shower block could be cleaner in terms of the carpet into the ladies, door frame all dirty etc.

The freedom was great. Beautifully kept park with friendly staff. We arrived late but the staff made sure we knew where our pitch was by leaving the information in the reception window. The park is on a bus route so after a walk to town we could get dropped back, at the entrance. Clean shower block and toilets.

    Disliked:

Only criticism would be maybe the shower could stay on longer so we didn’t have to keep pressing the button to get water.

Directions

From the north:
Leave the M5 at Junction 31 onto the A30 towards Bodmin/Okehampton. Travel west on the A30 past the Victoria interchange. At the next exit, leave the A30 and head straight forward onto the slipway. Enter the roundabout and leave at the third exit onto the A39.

Stay on the A39 for 0.87 miles, then enter the roundabout at Halloon and leave at the second exit onto the A392, signposted Newquay. Stay on the A392 for 5.97 miles, then enter the roundabout and leave at the first exit onto the A3075. Stay on the A3075 for 0.25 miles, then leave it and turn right into an unclassified road, signposted Crantock.

(If you are in Newquay, take the A3075 to Redruth for 1.5 miles until you see the Crantock signpost. If you are approaching from the west you will see Crantock signposted from the A3075.)

Follow this road for one mile to the T-junction sign to Newquay, where you turn right and then into the Trevella Park entrance.

Local attractions

A quick meander along the verdant country lanes and pathways around Trevella can lead in various directions: a historic smugglers’ inn, a beach, Crantock’s thatched cottages and pretty village church, or to the Gannel Estuary to fish, paddle, birdwatch or make the short hop on the ferry to Newquay. The latter probably needs no introduction, but on top of its famous beaches, it has a zoo, aquarium, farm park, boating lake and miniature railway – plus swimming pools (with flumes) and golf courses.

This being Cornwall, visitors will find no shortage of ace attractions less than an hour away. Recommendations include losing oneself in the gardens at Heligan, taking in an atmospheric show at the open air Minack Theatre, on the cliffs overlooking the sea; heading into the Eden Project’s massive crater, to examine the exotic flora in the jaw-dropping megadomes; and some painterly perusal at the Tate Gallery in St Ives.

Then there are adventure parks, National Trust properties and open gardens galore; plus a lively programme of local land- and sea-based events, from festivals to carnivals, and regattas to traditional Cornish gig racing.

Must see

  • Blue Reef Aquarium (1.4 miles)
  • Newquay Zoo (1.5 miles)
  • Fistral Beach (1.5 miles)

National Trust

  • Trerice (2.6 miles)
  • Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps (6.5 miles)
