- Peaceful and private park in a Cornish valley
- A few miles from the Eden Project
- Adventure playground, games room and spotless amenities
Sometimes all you want is peace and quiet. Yes, even if you’re going to Cornwall and thousands of other holidaymakers have evidently had the same idea at the same time. But there is peace among the madding crowds, as can be seen by a trip to Lanlivery’s Eden Valley Holiday Park, a secluded site in a Cornish valley surrounded by trees, rhododendron bushes and local wildlife.
And when you’re ready to brave the throngs, the park is handy for all the highlights of Cornwall including the beaches of the south and coastline of the north – and the famous Eden Project a few miles away.
As you might deduce, Eden Valley Holiday Park is geared towards families and those who aren’t into noisy clubhouses or flashy evening entertainment on their holidays. It’s set up to be as private as possible, with a select number of pitches in each linked woody paddock (there’s also a dog-walking paddock so even family friends can get a bit of peace).
For the kids, there’s an extensive adventure playground on site with timber trail, swings, rope bridges and a fort – well, this is the place to be private…Feeling competitive? Try the indoor games room with pool table and table football for fruitful family challenges.
The amenities at Eden Valley are kept to a spotless standard by Darren, Ginny and the team, and include a new shower block with roomy cubicles each with their own toilet, sink and power shower. A launderette is also on site along with separate areas for washing up and vegetable prep. All in all, a little peace of paradise…

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.

Three of Cornwall’s major attractions are within a quick drive of Eden Valley – the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Crealy Great Adventure Park – but a recommended start is staying local and heading over the hill a mile and a half away to the ancient town of Lostwithiel, set in the Fowey River valley with the river running through the town.
Have a wander around the Grade I listed St Bartholomew’s Church with its famous carved font, take a picnic to the Norman Restormel Castle for splendid views of the Cornish countryside, or follow the river from Lostwithiel along the six miles to Fowey for sightseeing, shopping, art galleries and restaurants.
After going local, go either north or south: north will take you to Bodmin Moor, home of the fabled beast and the place of legend, tors and Brown Willy, and to the National Trust’s country house Lanhydrock with sculptures, woodland trails, adventure playground and lavish gardens.
North from Eden Valley will also take you to the towns of Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel for seafood, surfing and swashbuckling tales of King Arthur; the Camel Trail runs near Padstow for horse riding, cycling and walking.
Going south, there’s more biking and walking along the China Clay Trail and digging into history at St Austell’s China Clay Country Park, with the town of Looe within easy reach along the coast for fishing, shark spotting and a 12-mile walk to Fowey along the South West Coast Path if you’re feeling so inclined.
Falmouth, Helston, Truro and Redruth are also easy to reach going south from Eden Valley and have a wealth of attractions and activities on offer: the National Seal Sanctuary, Poldark Mine and Flambards Theme Park to name just a few…
Elsewhere in Cornwall there are gorgeous gardens, castles, seaside villages and sandy beaches all over: make it your mission to get lost from Lostwithiel and remember to pack your camera, picnic and bucket and spade.
