  • Secluded, peaceful park in a rural setting a few miles from Praa Sands
  • Within 30 minutes' drive of Land's End, St Ives and Falmouth
  • Nature trail, games field and play barn
Avoid the madding crowds on your summer sojourn to Cornwall and stay at this green, secluded and peaceful park instead: Polladras Holiday Park has had previous guests waxing lyrical about its peace, its quiet and its lovely location 15 minutes' drive from Helston and pretty Porthleven harbour. The park is in a rural setting four miles from the beaches of Cornwall’s south coast and within easy reach of coastal and countryside walks. It’s in a top spot too for south-west Cornwall explores with Penzance, the Lizard Peninsula and Land’s End no more than half an hour’s drive away. Yet blissful peace will always be yours when you potter back to pitch, as family-friendly and dog-friendly Polladras is set over nine acres and has no noisy bar, clubhouse or evening entertainment. This is a place that gives a good nod to eco-friendly aspects: low wattage bulbs are used throughout and recycling is paramount. Heaps of info is displayed about non-car ways of getting around the local area, in the form of bus timetables on display and details of walks from the park given to all guests, and the well thought-out nature trail leads to a games field with play barn, football goals and a climbing frame to wrestle the kids away from their consoles.

Sapphire Supreme 2 bedroom static caravan (no pets)

Liked: Very clean, cozy and warm place. You can find everything you need inside. Nice reception/kitchen area with the electric fireplace. The owner was ready to help. Very good location.

Disliked: There were no additional bin bags. And we didn’t take any with us. But I assume it was just a misunderstanding. It’s a nice quite place, but not every single spot was occupied, so it may be slightly crowded during high season

Gold electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Site clean and tidy and nice and central for exploring

Disliked: More of a slight problem Gravel on pitch made motor mover unusable and on a slant so I would take a wheel wedge if I visit again but again not a complaint just a observation

Gold electric grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Everything about the site was great, all amenities were very easily on hand. Very clean and tidy. Even the small amusements for the kids was a great addition. We had an electric pitch which was plenty big enough for our tent, trailer and car.

Hillview Meadow non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch (sloping, wild)

Liked: Nice clean amenities. Great family wet rooms. Lovely park for kids and fab little arcade/games room to enjoy. Pitches we where in was very big and out the way so was nice and quite. Staff very friendly and helpful

Disliked: The wild camp area was treated almore like a dog exercise field rather than pitches, a little frustrating when your camping in that area.

Hillview Meadow non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch (sloping, wild)

Liked: Our camping escapades in South Cornwall have been a tradition for four years, but this campsite was a standout.👌❤️ Location: The campsite’s prime location is the gift that keeps on giving. Nestled away for tranquillity, it also places a world of attractions at your fingertips. Within a 30-minute drive, we found ourselves exploring the magic of National Trust sites like Kynance Cove, St Michaels Mount, Godolphin House, Trengwainton Garden, and Hayle (with loads of seals!🦭 ). St Ives lured us with its artsy buzz, while Porthleven, a quick 13-minute drive away, offered both thrilling high-tide jumps and mouth-watering fish and chips. Penzance, with its inviting shops, splendid coast, and a shopping experience that brings together the best of coastal charm and modern tastes. The vibrancy of St Ives, with its dynamic mix of art shops and thrilling activities, is easily accessible. Pothleven, a mere 13-minute drive away, offers the delightful thrill of high-tide jumps at the port, not to mention the lobster house, adorable art shops, and mouth-watering fish and chips! I and the family-oriented Flambards Theme Park is a quick 12-minute drive away. It might not boast the biggest rides, but it's charm and shorter waiting lines with fireworks night more than make up for it. Campsite Perks: Pitching our tent was a breeze on the level ground, ensuring even those without luxury bedding (like us) enjoyed a cozy night's sleep. Despite we had some rainy days, the campsite's comprehensive amenities kept our spirits high. The toilets were always immaculate; the convenient sinks for washing up, fridge, and freezer were a godsend; and the on-site laundry is a nice add on and you'll also find a separate bucket for wetsuits, though this time, for us the ocean was inviting enough without them! Thanks to the campsite’s top-notch amenities even on rainy days you can enjoy a small family-friendly arcade experience for some family fun. The spotless toilets and practical family shower rooms were just the cherries on top. On-site Entertainment: On laid-back days, the games room became our hideout. A healthy mix of billiards, arcade games, and even some sheltered outdoor table and chairs for reading, and drawing while you can oversee your kids weather inside the game room or have fun on the playground. For a touch of the outdoors, we had swings, a trampoline, and a beckoning woodland trail. If you are a footie enthusiast a relatively level green patch with goals also offers some family/ friends fun. Woodland trail around will offer hide&seek games or fun exploring bugs & hedgehogs along the way if you are lucky:) Safety & Thoughtful Extras: Evening meanders were secure, with gentle-lit paths, dedicated to pedestrians which made them safe and secure. And the BBQ setup?🔥 Comprehensive and user-friendly, making our grilling sessions delightful. The site offers fire pits and logs, with hot ash containers located in multiple locations making it safe and clean to enjoy your barbecue nights. For Our Furry Companion: Dedicated walking routes ensured our dog was in high spirits throughout. 🐾 Suggested walking routes are also pinned up in the kitchen area if you are looking for a nice walk around the site. Whether you're Team Tent or Team Caravan, this campsite welcomes all & all year around. And the cost? Pure value for every penny.🥇💛 This venture was a heartwarming mix of rest and adventure. We’ll definitely be returning, eager to relish another round of relaxation and adventure both on and around this impeccably clean and superbly equipped site. If you're considering a visit, may it enchant and invigorate you just as it did for us. Here's to clear skies, beautiful views, and stories around the campfire! 💕🏕️

Gold electric grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Neat and clean, close to attractive places

Disliked: Grass not taken care of, the pitches are too small, no privacy at all. Not enough showers, only 3. Playground very limited. No shop.

Local attractions

Within half an hour or less you’ll reach most of the main highlights of south-west Cornwall as well as many beyond: Flambards Theme Park, St Ives, Falmouth and the gardens of Glendurgan, Trebah and Trewithian are all close by, and the town of Helston, Cornwall’s second oldest (after Marazion), is three miles from the park. Stunning beaches are all around: Praa Sands 10 minutes’ drive away; Sennen Cove and its consistent waves for surf, and Porthleven, Pollurian and Mullion for fishing, more watersporting and rockpooling. From Porthkerris beach, towards Falmouth, you can learn to dive and look for the shore’s shipwrecks, while Kennack Sands and Kynance towards the Lizard are the ones to take the paintbox to. Newquay and the famed surf beaches of Cornwall’s north coast are within seven miles. For walkies, take to the countryside around Lower Polladras using the park guides, or have some gorgeously scenic strolls along the South West Coast Path to Mullion, Marazion, Mousehole or Penzance. On the north coast, try the eight-mile hike from Portreath to Godrevy, stopping off for blackberry ice cream or apple cake and clotted cream at the famed Hells Mouth café along the way.
