Avoid the madd(en)ing crowds on your summer sojourn to Cornwall and stay at this green, secluded and peaceful park instead: Lower Polladras Touring Park has had previous guests waxing lyrical about its peace, its quiet, its lovely location and its very friendly owners Carol and Graham – have a look at the site reviews…
The park is in a rural setting four miles from the beaches of Cornwall’s south coast and within easy reach of coastal and countryside walks. It’s in a top spot too for south-west Cornwall explores with Penzance, the Lizard Peninsula and Land’s End no more than half an hour’s drive away. Yet blessed (blessed) peace will always be yours when you potter back to pitch, as Lower Polladras only has a few dozen pitches, set over four acres, and no noisy bar, clubhouse or evening entertainment.
As holders of the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation, Carol and Graham are very environmentally minded and are always improving the park to make it as green and sustainable as poss: low wattage bulbs are used throughout and recycling is paramount. Heaps of info is displayed about non-car ways of getting around the local area, in the form of bus timetables on display and details of walks from the park given to all guests, and there’s a well thought out nature trail leading to a games field with play barn, football goals and a climbing frame to wrestle the kids away from their consoles.
Dogs are welcome, and the two-acre exercise area on the edge of the park should keep Fido pretty stress-free too…
