Trewen Farm Campsite: Beach view

General

  • Well-maintained family-run site under 10 minutes' drive from Falmouth
  • Spectacular views over St Mawes and Falmouth bay from the park
  • A five-minute walk from the site's own woodland for nature walks

Spectacular south Cornwall beaches and top towns…? They’re within easy reach from Trewen Farm Campsite, a family-friendly place five minutes’ drive from the coast and under 10 minutes from the seaside settlement of Falmouth.

This park’s so close to the town that stunning views of its bay can be soaked up from its open and spacious pitching field. From this peaceful and pleasant setting that allows in all ages (even those of the four-legged variety…), you can also spy the houses of St Mawes on the Roseland peninsula in the distance.

With such restful surrounds, it's no wonder the owners pride themselves on doing their best to ensure all visitors have a relaxing holiday, and a warm and friendly welcome’s given as soon as you step foot on this farm that’s been run by the same family for generations.

As well as a calm vibe and plenty of green space, Trewen is in a wildlife haven and a five-minute walk from the site’s own woodland for nature walks in quiet shade. The site's well maintained with lots of room for kids to play and a smart shower and toilet block (built for the 2021 season). Barbecues are allowed as well, so you can cook over coals after a lope around the lush setting.

Fancy going further? Just off site, Trebah Gardens and Glendurgan Gardens are a few miles away and weeks’ worth of Cornish highlights are within very easy reach: have days out at the seal sanctuary at Gweek, hike the mighty trails of the South West Coast Path, or drive a short distance west to take in the sights of the Lizard Heritage Coast.

Please note

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

    Nothing really

    Disliked:

It’s almost as if everyone else is talking about a different site. The facilities were not clean at all and the hand towels had run out. The rough concrete floor in the toilet and shower block must be almost impossible to clean. We had to find Jodie in the morning to pay her because she didn’t come to see us when we got there. Wouldn’t go back.

The campsite was great. We went when it wasn’t busy at all so had full use of facilities which were so clean!
We brought our young lab with us, so there was plenty of space. Lovely view of the sea too!

Fantastic site with good pitches and great facilities. Very convenient for visiting lots of places, both on the coast and inland. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a really good shop, where you can get most things. We attended an evening concert in front of the lovely Trewan Hall, which was absolutely fantastic and we were quite surprised that they put on so many events. The pool was great for the grandchildren and we were lucky that we were able to use before it closed. All in all, a terrific 5 nights and we will definitely come here again.

Local attractions

If you’ll be making forays to Falmouth, meander around the maritime museum, browse the boutiques or set sail on the sea with one of the organised boat trips.

If you’re itching to ride the waves instead, head towards Newquay (50 minutes) for lessons and rentals on the renowned surf beach of Fistral or navigate your way to the cove at St Agnes – a touch closer at 40 minutes away. Drop by the famed Finisterre factory here too for rifling racks of trendy outdoor clothing made in Britain.

Once you’ve picked up a new jacket or two, make your way to Pendennis Castle (20 minutes away) for a bracing walk around this artillery fort built by Henry VIII. Other cultural buildings are over in Truro, half an hour's drive away, which is known for its rather grand cathedral.
