General

  • Camping as it should be, with firepits and fantastic shower facilities
  • Wonderful views across the valley to the Atlantic ocean
  • Large barbecue terrace and games room with free wifi

In an ideal countryside location, Pencuke Farm has outstanding views across the valley to the Atlantic Ocean. The farm offers guests the opportunity to explore more than 18 acres of farmland and relax against a stunning backdrop, whilst being located close to beaches and all the outdoor activities you would expect from a holiday in Devon and Cornwall.

An important part of your holidays is enjoying good food, but - if the idea of cooking on holiday sounds appalling - you will find a wide range of restaurants and eating places in Cornwall to suit all purses. Whether you are looking for a contemporary waterside bistro, a relaxed family pub, or a Michelin star restaurant, you will be spoilt for choice.

For alfresco cooking, you have more options. There are two firepits that can be used to prepare your meals (or just to have a good fire), or a Mediterranean-style barbecue on a terrace furnished with outdoor sofas.

The campsite facilities also include private shower rooms with their own toilet, sink and large power shower with hot water 24 hours a day.

The games room has a pay per use pool table, table football, free wifi and lots of room to relax. There is a communal fridge and freezer that can be used at no extra cost.

Owners friendly, environment well kept and camping area well looked after. Nice thought given to pitch layout and privacy. Away from busy roads only the sounds of cattle grazing and rain!

Location was brill for all the activities we do, cycling and waterspouts giving us lots of choice of places to go.

Communal area well presented and clean. Facilities excellent and offering of food was really well thought out. Storage for food, fridge would need to be larger if campsite was full, although this did not effect us as there site was quite. A sense of trust was apparent with the owner and those staying.

    Disliked:

Didn't dislike anything but would recommend some hooks in the bathroom on the walls to hang clothing.

More expensive than other sites I have stayed at but I think this drives the clientele so would be happy to pay this price for what is being delivered.

Generous well positioned pitches, fantastic clean shower & toilet facilities. Great idea with the barbecue area with sofas etc (unable to use as a bit rainy during our stay). Liked the fire pits. Fantastic views and lovely atmosphere, a beautiful spot.
Owner and family very friendly and welcoming. Farm shop very handy. Easy to find and only a short drive to Bude etc.
Everyone became very fond of Willow!

    Disliked:

Only a few minor things really -
-our pitch was very stony (about 5 cms below grass level) so a bit of a struggle to get the pegs in properly - even with a mallet.
-only 2 fire pits and these were hogged by 2 families so that was a little disappointing.
-maybe provide a table for each pitch.

Local attractions

Situated just one mile off the A39 Atlantic Highway, the campsite offers an excellent base for visiting all the great attractions that Cornwall has to offer, from The Eden Project to Crealy Great Adventure Park.

The campsite is close to the North Cornwall beaches, there are miles and miles of coves and inlets to be discovered and long, unbroken stretches of golden sand that can be found all the way from Porthcothan to Sandymouth. There are also many great surfing beaches stretching along the coast including Harlyn and Constantine bay, Old Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand and the fabulous Widemouth bay.

The high cliffs along the coast provide walks with unique seascapes. Much of the coastline between Morwenstow and Tintagel is owned by the National Trust and the coastal villages near Bude are joined by part of the 500-mile long South West Coastal Path, which rises to 700 feet above sea level at The Strangles, near Crackington Haven. These coastal waters are ideal for observing seabirds and catching a glimpse of seals and the occasional dolphin and this sparsely populated area of North Cornwall provides a haven for wildlife. From the campsite it is possible to walk to The Strangles (2.5m each way), Roscare, Lower Crackington (3.3m in total), Crackington Haven (2m each way) and Rusey Beach (4.5m in total).

In the area, it’s also possible to find stables to go horse riding, lakes for fishing and there are five golf courses within a 15-minute drive of the campsite. It's possible to discover the local history through castles - like Tintagel Castle, said to be the place of Kind Arthur - country houses, and gardens.
