  • North Cornish site with views to Devon's Lundy Island
  • Five miles from Bude
  • Immaculate amenities including free hot showers
Coo, cop a look at these Cornish coast views… Cornish Coasts Caravan and Camping Park is, not surprisingly, on the Cornish coast (the north side), but from this four-acre site you can also see across to Devon’s Lundy Island and you're only about half an hour away from that county’s coast too (yes, the north side as well). Beaches? Less than five miles away at the handsome little town of Bude. Small and friendly Cornish Coasts is one of the oldest established parks in the area, so the owners know what’s what for making guests tick and ensuring they return year after year. You might also reckon that site owners who say they take pride in the cleanliness of their toilets and showers will tick all the right boxes too, as will new and improved features on site: the amenities block has power that which provide lashings of free hot water all day. The site has a café that serves a breakfast and lunch menu. A takeout menu is available every Friday night, plus Saturdays nights during summer school holidays. There is also a farm shop and camping supplies shop, which are both open daily. Other (very clean) amenities include a launderette, baby changing facilities, covered dishwashing area and a chemical waste disposal point. Hairdryers are available too, so you can look your best in those Cornish Coast photos. Please note that this site does not have direct access to the coast path or space for dog walking (although places like these can be reached within a few minutes' drive). It is next to a main road, so there may be some traffic noise, although this also makes it all the easier to discover Cornwall.

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Nice location on a hill side, 7km from Bude, looking towards the coast. Facilities were adequate and clean. Farm shop and cafe on site, open 8am till 3pm while we were there. Bus stop right outside campsite (95) to Bude or Newquay. Staff we Mey were friendly and helpful, when we saw them.

Disliked: Initially on arrival campsite looked full but it appears most units were seasonal, and hardly anyone about during the time we were there. If its windy, site is quite exposed.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Nice little site, lots of privacy. Really nice cafe and shop. Showers etc was clean and tidy. We had a nice stay.

Disliked: Our failt we didn't realise its 5 miles from Bude. Caught the bus in on a Saturday afternoon and got a taxi back. £30 for a 5 mile drive. Nothing to do with the camp site just be aware as taxis was few and far between.

Electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked: This site is perfect for campers who enjoy relaxing. The site has picturesque views of surrounding countryside with a seaview. The onsite farm shop is well stocked with local fresh produce and essentials. A bonus is the onsite bar and eatery, but the opening hours were limited. The breakfasts were very popular and good value. Wifi was patchy, but a good connection near the reception area. For those who enjoy the TV, the reception was very good. Bus stops outside the site. .

Disliked: Anyone with a mobility problem would find the showers difficult due to steps and no grab handles. The floors were very wet after showers due to poor drainage. Nothing available to clear excess water away.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and feedback regarding the showers, which we will take under consideration to see if we can improvements for the future.

Local attractions

You could spend your entire hol on the sands and in the sea if you were so inclined: the long bay and miles of sand of Widemouth Bay are three miles away from Cornish Coasts for surfing, rockpooling or stretching out on golden sand; Bude is five miles away, and Summerleaze, Sandymouth, Crackington Haven and Crooklets are within 10 to 15 minutes’ drive. If you’re new to the surf, this area has a good handful of surf schools to show you the ropes; if you prefer to stay on land, the South West Coast Path runs alongside Poundstock, the village nearest to Cornish Coasts. Going along the coast towards Newquay, the medieval fishing village of Boscastle, eight miles from Cornish Coasts, is a popular tourist spot, probably best known for its handsome harbour and National Trust visitor centre in its old ‘pilchard palace'. Also the stuff of legends, Tintagel and its King Arthur associations are three miles along the coast from Boscastle: climb up to Tintagel Castle high on the coast for tales of Arthur and some seriously stunning views across the water (you should be able to see Lundy Island from here too). Going into Devon, take the kids to new heights at the Milky Way Adventure Park in Bideford; the town is also where you can catch the ferry to lovely Lundy Island.
