General

  • Peaceful park with spectacular sea and countryside views
  • A mile from Boscastle
  • A short distance from the South West Coast Path

Spectacular sunsets, smashing views, spying seals and all a mere mile from Boscastle... things sound tre-mendous at north Cornwall's Trebyla Farm. It's on the north Cornish coast (also tre-mendous) and within easy walking distance of seeing the marine mammals, birds of prey and other wildlife around the splendid South West Coast Path.

Plenty of other walks surround this peaceful place, including a mile-long meander to the several pubs, restaurants and shops of Boscastle, but if you want to travel by wheels a bus stop is just outside the farm entrance.

Guests have access to a spacious wetroom on site and there's a washing-up area and facilities for ice pack freezing.

For supplies, travel ten or 15 minutes from Trebyla to a newly open farm shop selling fresh local produce as well as dishing up sizeable cooked breakfasts.

Please note

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Under 21s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Amazing views and a cheap site within reason

    Disliked:

Concerned about electrics on site. Seems a bit make the money charge the price to hell with the safety. Never seen anything like it. Guess it's the Cornish thing, but wouldn't let our kid play outside as just loads of leads joined together powering much more homes than they had hook ups for I think, had aflash in the night and saw 4 homes comeing of one lead on the floor all joined together, thought our neighbours tent was going to catch on fire. Not enough toilets for pitches either.

This is a working farm and run by the farmer and his wife who are so so lovely. The site offers amazing views down towards Boscastle and you are only a 2-3 minute drive from the village. The site is clean and very quiet, the pitches are quite large and there is a rule that all noise ceases by 10.30pm. The site goes over a couple of fields and so the kids can run around pretty much undisturbed and are safe.
If you need washing done there is a charge of £7.00 (current to August 2017) per load and it is washed, dried and folded. Ours was returned to us the following day. There are negatives to this site but I can honestly say that everyone we spoke to said they would return (us included). If you are picky about facilities then this is not the site for you but if you are going for a quiet get away in, what is a beautiful part of the world, and you are prepared to compromise a little then this is perfect.
Camp fires and barbecues (off the ground) are allowed and the farmer is so helpful and lovely if you ask him he will try and help with any request.

    Disliked:

This is a very basic camp site. There is a brick built annex with two toilets with a hand wash basin in, a sink area for washing up (only one sink, so often queues) and a fairly large shower room (one shower). Then there is a portaloo, another porta cabin type building with one toilet and one shower. This however is really small and although the shower is much better in this one it is a really tight squeeze to get dry and dressed afterwards. Again due to there only being two showers there is often a queue. Having said that we managed for a fortnight and if you don't mind it being a bit rough and ready then this is fine.

Site owners are great and very friendly. The site attacted a very friendly group of campers and it was a pleasure to share the site with them. Large grassed areas for the children to play, Lovely views to the sea and a shop close by in boscastle. Along with an excellent fish and chip shop.

    Disliked:

Would have liked a play area for the children but didnt matter as all the children played together and made their own fun. Toilet block is basic and number of units is limited which can lead to ques at busy times.

Directions

We are situated on the B3263, 1 mile from the Bude side of Boscastle. From Boscastle, head north on Old Road toward New Road/B3263 and proceed for about 2 miles. Look out for our signpost on your left.

Please note that if using Sat Nav with our postcode it will take you to a small hamlet called Beeny along some very narrow lanes. Do not turn off the B3263 but continue down towards Boscastle for approximately 1/4 mile. The campsite is on the right-hand side.

Local attractions

One of the most famed things about Boscastle, just down the road from Trebyla Farm, is its Museum of Witchcraft, immortalised by we Pitchup.commers as one of our faves in all the land.

The village should keep you going for a bit after a dip into the witchcraft museum, even if you just sit and stare at its scenic harbour from one of its two stone walls... If you fancy delving into a bit more history, the National Trust has a visitor centre in Boscastle's Old Smithy (and if not, there are a few interesting little shops around).

The South West Coast Path is accessed from here – we recommend the walk to Arthurian Tintagel – and those who want to stay active will find horse riding, fishing and golfing opps in the area too.

This is of course surfing country as well, or you could stick to exploring the rockpools among the many sandy beaches around this part of coast.

Must see

  • Tintagel Castle (4.7 miles)
  • Rock Beach (15.4 miles)
  • Cornwall's Crealy Great Adventure Park (18.5 miles)

National Trust

  • Tintagel Old Post Office (4.5 miles)
  • Lawrence House (13.9 miles)
