General

  • Friendly site in a tree-filled valley near Bodmin Moor
  • Well-maintained and peaceful park
  • Easy drive to the north and south Cornish coasts

Escape with a break to Ruthern Valley Holidays... At this friendly site in a tree-filled valley near Bodmin Moor, the emphasis is on making the most of the natural surroundings - think birds and bunnies rather than bingo nights, and babbling brooks instead of the boom of a disco bar.

The site is carefully laid out to offer visitors the maximum space and seclusion possible. If you're bringing the kids, they'll love roaming around the woods building dens and wildlife spotting, chatting to the resident chickens and pigs, and bouncing around the leafy playground area.

Ruthern Valley Holidays also has a licensed shop selling delicious bangers, other local goodies, and some essential camping gear. Other amenities include solar-heated showers, toilets, laundry and washing-up facilities.

Thank you so much for your great review. It means a lot to us. The Tea machine was a new addition last year and has become quite popular lately. Glad you liked it!

Noisy on Sat night well beyond 10.30pm

From the manager...

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and do apologise for the noise.
I had to have a word with the families, they did not realise how much noise they were making and the effect on other people. They did promise to apologise to you in the morning.
I should have asked them to be quiet earlier rather than checking at 10.45 and having to tell them to be quiet.
Again our apologies.

Our pitch had both sunshine and shade. 02/06/2017

Our pitch had both sunshine and shade.

    Disliked:

Facilities were inadequate for the size of the campsite.
The campsite was marketed as 'peaceful', but there were too many large families with a lot of children to make it peaceful. Children roamed through our own pitch.

From the manager...

Thank you for taking the time to write this review and 2 more on other websites.
We are very disappointed to receive a poor review
The loos and showers - there are 5 loos, 4 showers and 3 washing up sinks.
You were given choice of pitch, we even explained that the pitch you choose was next to the pathway through the woods and so being half term there would be people and children using it! .
Being a rural wooded family friendly site we are generally full of families during school holidays, might we respectfully suggest that you just got your timing wrong and your stay clashed with the half term.
