Children had great fun in the woods right next to our pitch. Owners couldn't do enough for us

    Disliked:

Maybe just a porta shower cabin would of made it slightly better. If it did have a shower of some kind, we would of stayed longer

    Clean site

    Disliked:

Overpriced for essentially sleeping in a field with a tap and 2 portaloos.
We booked and paid through pitch up and the website appeared to show that we would get a bag of logs and a fire grill as part of the £20 pitch fee. When we arrived that turned out to be an additional £10.
Everything else was fine. Just the cost that bothered us.

The family who runs the site were so helpful - answering all questions and providing some much appreciated cooking equipment for our evening at the site (and some delicious sheep's milk ice cream to boot). Portaloos were clean and well maintained and the site was quiet and peaceful. Lovely stuff, thanks for everything!

This was our first venture into camping and we didn't really know what to expect, but the site is amazing, especially for kids. There is a small woodland at the edge of the field which the kids spent all of their time playing in and they made great friends with the other campers. The owners of the farm were very friendly and came around with firewood, fire pit and homemade ice cream. We had only planned staying one night, but ended up staying two as the kids did not want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Amazing camping spot. Not too many amenities, just the basics - running water and toilets. But that's what camping is about. Nice and friendly hosts as well. A little hint: try the ice-cream the farm makes.

We couldn't wait to return to this site following a weekend here last year. Good sized field giving us lots of space to sit, play and relax. The woods are great for exploring, hide and seek and walking after a good camp meal!
The porta loo's are super clean and well maintained (never out of paper etc). Very friendly owners. We love too that there's a maximum of ten pitches in the field meaning you never feel crowded.

    Disliked:

Same comment as I made in last years review - a little overpriced for what it is but that won't stop us returning.

My son and I were looking for a simple site, within 90 minutes from home (South Hertfordshire), where we could have a fire and cook our food over it. We arrived at the site on a Friday evening in late April and met Mat, Becky and Rosie within five minutes of arriving. They couldn't have been more friendly and everything was as expected and hoped for. The portaloo was exceptionally clean, the field itself was level and relatively soft under foot without too many stones, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. Horsham town centre is less than a half hour walk away and the Downs Link bridle way is a 15 minute cycle ride away. My son and I had a lovely time away from normality and will certainly be back at some point. Mat, Becky and Rosie supplied a fire pit and logs at reasonable prices and we had the entire site to ourselves the first night and shared it with just one other couple the second night. Highly recommended if you want simplicity and don't want to travel far from London or the South East of England.
