- Farm and fishery over 100 acres of West Sussex countryside
- Footpaths and cycle trails in and around the site
- Restaurant and bar by one of the fishing lakes
The vibe is relaxed at this secluded sylvan site, where you can make the most of the fishing, and meet Derek the Charolais bull and his ladies (Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite is a working farm).
With good basic amenities, the site has great walking, cycling and fishing across 100 verdant acres of woodland and meadows, with paths and cycle trails in and around the farm.
There are three fishing lakes - including a smaller pond that’s ideal for young anglers - stuffed with carp, bream, perch, chub, pike and more; and a small shop selling bait and fishing tackle plus the usual camping essentials.
The Café by the Lake is the site restaurant and bar, open to guests and the public. It serves hot and cold food throughout the day and aims for excellent standards in food and service.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.

It’s animaltastic around here. Drusilla’s Park in Alfriston has otters, penguins and bats, plus train rides and the Playland adventure playground. Twitchers flock to the Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Birdworld in Farnham, and there are more birds, plus a fabulous selection of vintage cars, at the Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. As well as the famous theme parks of Thorpe Park. Chessington and Legoland, there’s fun to be had at Harbour Park on the seafront at Littlehampton, and at Treasure Island and Fort Fun in Eastbourne.
For a more genteel feel, visitors could hop on the steam-powered Bluebell Railway at Uckfield, go on a boat tour in charming Chichester, or take to two wheels to explore the forest and seaside trails at the Cuckmere Cycle Company centre near Seaford.
Holidaymakers can find out about the region’s industrial heritage and bygone crafts at the Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre. There are lovely botanical gardens at Paradise Park in Newhaven, and the area is not short of National Trust properties, either.
