Woodland Farm Glamping: Horses grazing next to open field

General

  • Bell tents with private firepits in meadow and woodland settings
  • In the High Weald area, a 15-minute drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells
  • Accommodation includes beds, bedding and a campers’ kitchen

Meander through the meadows and among the trees at Woodland Farm Glamping, a leafy green site set in 50 fantastic acres of Kent countryside.

This park is in the county’s High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a 15-minute drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells and an hour from London, so it’s an accessible choice for a glamping getaway in lush surrounds. It welcomes families, couples and solo travellers to a collection of luxury five-metre bell tents with pretty views from their openings.

Each accommodation comes with a double bed (extra single airbeds available on request for bookings of more than two people) and all bedding included, as well as furniture, rugs and seating. Culinary-minded types will be chuffed with the campers’ kitchen containing a stove, a couple of gas canisters, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and equipment.

Meal made? Sit outside on the roomy decking at your table and seating to dine or settle in on the camping chairs for an on-your-lap dinner eaten next to the warmth of your personal firepit. On a clear night, the sunset and stars are said to be spectacular in this rural area.

For stunning daytime vistas, set off on explores of the surrounds: there are gardens, castles and beaches to get a glimpse of within a 45-minute drive, as well as activities like rock climbing in Groombridge (20 minutes), canoeing in Yalding (20 minutes) and quad biking in West Malling (30 minutes) to have a go at.

Glamping in all its glory21/06/2021

We had an amazing time at Woodland Farm Glamping. Sue was very welcoming and very helpful. The tents are in an enclosed area so children can roam free. The tents are spacious, very well set up and the attention to detail is lovely. The toilets are brand new, very clean and easily accessible so that children can go on their own. The play tent is a lovely touch for kids to make friends and to entertain themselves. No need to bring all the toys and games from home to entertain them!
There are barbecues on site, some small and some larger ones. Do not forget your coal. Each tent has its own fire pit, if you forget to bring your logs, Bob can sell you a bucket for £7.50. One bucket was enough for us for 1 night.
There are a couple of lovely walks to do around and we were very lucky to spot a few deers.
Thank you Sue for this lovely stay, we'll definitely come back!

Sue is a real delight, friendly and attentive,

Location was fantastic, the tents were in a field with a great distance from eachother, so you had personal space. The tent we had was clean and very comfortable, there was a main bed frame with a very warm duvet and two air beds for the children either side. Bedding was clean and pillows were plump. The inside was lovely, with bedside lamps, and everything you would need for a trip. From cooking utensils to a cool box. Sue was very helpful, attentive and a generally lovely person, who my children warmed to right away. Nothing was too much trouble. Upon arriving you're explained where and how things work, from where you can get fresh water, take a hot shower and the cooking hut. You're welcome to take a small gas camping stove to your tent pitch, or a BBQ if you fancy. Sue had also recently purchased a children's rainbow play tent, which is full of games, puzzles, even a goal post. The children all played lovely and we were relaxed knowing it was completely safe and there were not going to get hurt. We will definitely be going back, and also take some family members with us. It clean, comfortable and well run! We had a great few days.

Lovely bell tent on a little paddock, lots of space for children to run around, play cricket and football. Even a playtent for rainy days was provided, however we had fabulous weather. A tabletennis table under shade was great fun. We had our own firepit. The toilets were clean. In the night the campsite was lit up with fairylights- absolutely fabulous....

Lovely customer service, very accommodating and friendly. Excellent, clean facilities, lots of additional hand sanitising stations etc. Very peaceful location, located far enough away from the main road that nights were silent with a beautiful clear view of the night sky.

    Disliked:

A little confusing to get from the main road to the actual campsite and vice versa. Signage to the exit would be a good idea.

Local attractions

If you’re looking to entertain the infants, head to The Hop Farm (15 minutes’ drive) for a host of family-friendly attractions including huge inflatable trampolines, laser tag, a 4D cinema and a petting zoo.

Winnie-the-Pooh was dreamt up during a dawdle at Ashdown Forest (35 minutes), so this is a worthwhile spot for wanders with the tiddlers. Detour to The Llama Park enroute (25 minutes) to feed the furry creatures (and take them off on a walk if you’re feeling brave…).

Here in the warmer months? Make a splash at Bewl Water’s aquapark (15 minutes) or pootle around in a pedalo on the surface of the lake.

For other leisurely options, set off to the brightly coloured botanical displays at Scotney Castle (15 minutes) and Sissinghurst Castle Garden (25 minutes) or admire the turrets and moats of Hever and Leeds’ fortresses (30 and 40 minutes, respectively).

Afterwards, soak up the High Weald scenery during a restful ride on the Spa Valley Railway, which chugs between Royal Tunbridge Wells and Eridge (15 and 20 minutes); for folk fonder of the coast than the countryside, the beaches of Winchelsea and Hastings are 45 minutes away.

Must see

  • Scotney Castle (4.3 miles)
