where was the washing up area - likewise BBQ area

From the manager...

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay here.

The washing up area is at the back of the toilet block.

The BBQ area, was explained that you can have BBQ next to your caravan but we asked that its raised off the floor.

I hope where you go next is more suited for you.

Again apologies for your uncomfortable stay here.

As you you have said you wont visit again, we wish you both well.

Location is great for New Romney which we enjoyed the Bands playing in the Cinque Ports Pub.
Facilities were basic but perfectly acceptable, but nice that shower is not push button/timer

    Disliked:

For those that are unaware - ladies shower was very hot / not sure whether that's because care should be taken if you are in the shower and other water facilities are used?

From the manager...

Dear Danny,

We are sorry that the ladies shower was very hot. We will get this checked out.

We are so glad you enjoyed our site and what Romney had to offer.

We really hope you will return and visit us again.

Keep Well

    The intimacy and friendly owner

    Disliked:

Lack of signs and very awkward entrance, we caused damage to our caravan which was caused by an ornamental stone work in the middle if the main entrance.
We found out later there was another entrance direct to the actual pith which was more adequate for caravans/motorhomes. Alas it was not sign posted and there are no details on the sites website.

Very friendly welcome indeed. We forgot our hook up cable and a spare one was kindly lent to us. Details of the local area were very helpful especially details on the local pub events. The site was very quiet and peaceful we brought some bicycles and easily spent the whole day touring the local area and beaches from the site. Very safe and secure with plenty of room. Defo recommend the site for a quick get away from London.

    Disliked:

Toilets were fine, shower temperature was sometimes too hot, got the hang of it on the last day.

From the manager...

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for your kind review.

It was lovely having you stay with us and we hope in the future you return, we would love to see you again.

A gem of a campsite with previous unfair reviews. We loved it here! 16/04/2017

Rachael - Customer service 10/10. A lovely, lovely lady.

Location - Sure it's fairly close to a main road as a previous (unfair) review mentions but that didn't bother us one bit. We barely heard any traffic noise. 5 minute lovely walk (left out of the gate) to nearest pub, The Cinque Port Arms and a lovely pub it is too! Also sampled the Ship Hotel pub further along the high street which also was very nice indeed (we've eaten here in the past and the foods great and its popular with the locals).

We walked to the R, H & D (Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch) railway station and took the train to Dungeness and back. Absolutely has to be done if in the area!! Do it and you'll thank me for it :o)

Facilities - It appears previous reviewers weren't too keen. Perhaps they didn't look at the very accurate pictures and description prior to coming here. The loos are pretty basic yes with two toilets and one shower per sex. However they are perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. I have seen a lot worse!! One of the men's loos wasn't working when we were there but they did their very best to get this sorted.

Campsite - Very large field surrounded by countryside where they don't pack you in. Only 5 motor homes on site whilst we were there and the absolute best thing is it's adult only and dog free.

Excellent satellite signal for TV and fast speed 4G.

We will 100% be back. Thank you Rachael!!

    Disliked:

I dislike the previous poor reviews of this place which are totally unfair. We loved our stay here and the other campers we talked to all also seemed happy enough.

A very minor negative (which is by no means the end of the world) is that it would be nice to have hot water for washing up. Easily overcome by filling the washing up bowl with boiled water from the kettle first.

From the manager...

Thank you Paula for your very lovely review! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay here!

I really hope you come back and visit us.

I agree hot water for washing up is something we are working on as we speak.

Hope you both got home safe and sound.

Again thank you!!!
