General

Reconnect with your core values in the pretty apple orchard setting of Neals Place Farm, where you can clear a woolly head by chatting to the sheep in the neighbouring field.

This is a small, friendly site on a working farm, offering tourer and motorhome pitches with electricity and water, plus a field for tents (water only). The facilities are good (showers, loos, chemical disposal points and washing machine and tumble dryer available), but Canterbury is on the doorstep for any other facilities visitors might need. Dogs on the lead are welcome.

Disabled access is available to the showers and toilets and there's even a disabled scooter available!

Lovely site close to Canterbury 06/04/2016

I found this site ideal for my taste, not too formal and 'rule-bound', just a nice relaxed atmosphere with everything to hand. Nice walking route to Canterbury, (takes about 35 minutes), level pitches and a water tap adjacent to each pitch.

Not the sort of 'pristine' site that some prefer, but personally I don't like sites like that so I guess it's down to personal choice. However, toilets & showers were clean and staff were nice and helpful.

    Highly recommended!

Lovely location, shame about lack of customer service 04/04/2016

The site was lovely, pitches were a good size and screened with fruit trees. Despite the toilets being in porta cabin type building , they were clean and in good condition. The site is in an excellent position for visiting Canterbury and for walking the dogs. We would use it again.

    Disliked:

Nobody there when we arrived and everywhere was locked up and looked quite run down. We phoned and left messages but nobody ever returned the call. After nearly an hour, as we had already paid, we found ourselves a pitch and hooked up. Seemed quite expensive considering the lack of facilities.

Directions

Turn into Neals Place Road from the A290 beside the white water tower. Follow the road to the very end with the meadow on the left side. The road sweeps round to the right through the entrance - carry on until the road opens into a large yard area with a wishing well. The booking-in office will be found in this area. Access to the pitches is in the right-hand corner.

There is a regular bus service at the end of Neals Place Road where it joins the A290. There is also a regular train service from Canterbury West and Canterbury East Stations.

Local attractions

It’s around 20 minutes walk to the historic centre of Canterbury, with its classy cathedral, museums, ghost and river tours, plus food, drink and entertainment aplenty.

On the coast are beach resorts such as Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate, plus the oyster oasis of Whitstable, which can be reached by bike along the Crab and Winkle Way, a railway line turned cycle route. There’s a place to hire bikes half a mile from the farm.

Other sporty fun nearby includes fishing, sailing, horse riding, golf and ten pin bowling, and there are some lovely nature walks in the serene Blean Woods.

Guests can also go Gallic for the day with a jaunt across the channel by Eurotunnel or ferry (bagging some duty free en route, naturellement).
