You'll have loads of leisurely options at this Greater London campsite: peaceful and modern Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park is less than an hour from the bright lights of central London (for city folk escaping and city connoisseurs visiting), and (the clue is in the name) lies among the splendid scenery, walks and bike rides of the Lee Valley.

Need just a bit more? An 18-hole pay and play golf course is also on site for guests to use at members' prices, along with the fably fun FootGolf for those who prefer to boot balls rather than leisurely swing at them: do give it a go, it's immense fun.

The site has a well-stocked shop, a spacious play area and a modern facilities block with toilets, free hot showers and a laundry corner with washing machines, tumble dryers and an ironing board.

Walks and bike rides are all around, as well as the Lee Valley Athletics Centre for those who feel energetic and a nearby Odeon cinema complex for cosy evenings or damp afternoons. Discount cards for the attractions and cafés of Lee Valley Regional Park are given to all guests.

Decepcionante camping con lavabos sucios y personal antipático. 20/07/2017

    La tienda era correcta.

    Disliked:

    Disliked:

Bell tent was dirty - hairs and dead bugs and even someone's dried up contact lenses!
Camp site was SO noisy - they allow hen parties, which played music until 1am then stayed up shouting until 5am. Right next to a golf clubhouse, meaning golfers tee off at 7am, and all day they walk past your tent staring in! Plus there is train noise, plane noise and road noise - it couldn't be any noisier.
There was also a street light which was right above the tent and left on all night (hey at least you don't need a lamp...)
Charge for BBQ even though pitch up states they're included.
Staff had no idea what booking we had and sent us to find a pitch that did not exist.

Only a 33 minute walk to Edmonton green for the overground and shopping centre. The bell tent had a fridge with small freezer compartment, plates, cutlery, heater, 4 electrical sockets.

    Disliked:

Travellers at the entrance to the park. Golfers walking past from 7am. The 2 man bell tent is not the one pictured, there is no decking and you can't stand up in it.

I was slightly worried when on route to the site as the sat nav said it was only a mile away and we was in an industrial site road, but this lovely campsite is hidden behind it and you wouldn't know you was behind an ind est. Love the camping area itself, it's beautifully well kept pitches, lovely layout for each hired tent and it's a peaceful site even when kids are playing close by. Liked the on site cinema that was very convenient for our mini break away from the kids, and was close enough to shops and places to visit. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and quickly sorted out the problem we did have with our tent.
We hired a bell tent for 2, and was surprised with how much come with the tent, all you need to take is food and bedding. There was two camp beds, a kettle with welcome drinks, a heater, a decent mini fridge, lamp with table and ample cooking BBQ and washing up equipment, the tents even come with two ( very comfy) camping chairs.
Lovely kids area, not that we used it lol but seemed enough for the kids there. Good facilities as there was two shower and toilet rooms for both men and women so always a place to use. Laundry room I'm sure was helpful to some and the washing up area was adaquate.

    Disliked:

The showers need some tlc and an upgrade really as quite old fashioned and looked a bit grim (not dirty as such just not maintained), toilets themselves while kept clean there was a constant smell of sewage throughout our visit, whether that's the drains or what... but was all weekend.
And the washing up room needs to be bigger as was a squeeze when all three sinks were used, and needs a good clean as many cobwebs and dead bugs from the light directly above the sinks, a slug actually crawled out the sink over flow hole once......

Location of the the site is good to get into London and is easy to get to off the A10. Site is well kept and staff are friendly. Site is let down by the the state of the toilets/shower blocks which are quite grotty - completely due to the use/abuse of other users (not the staff!). Good kids play area and when we were there it was quite quiet at night
Despite the toilets/showers we would still rebook.

Local attractions

London of course… get into the city in under an hour from Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park's local station of Edmonton's Silver Street towards Charing Cross, Oxford Circus and Liverpool Street and the hundreds of things to see and do around the city.

Those who've come to escape city throngs will happily find many activities available in the Lee Valley, Hertfordshire and Essex, from gentle walking and cycling trails to adrenaline-raising whitewater rafting or family paddling on the Olympic course at the Lee Valley White Water Centre (where the canoe slalom events were held during London 2012).

Seasonal fishing is available in the area if you prefer a more placid pursuit, or you could take the crew along to Lee Valley Park Farms at Waltham Abbey, to meet meerkats, llamas, reindeer and other non-native (and native) critters, watch events like falconry displays and pig and lamb racing, or let the kids loose to career around one of the four adventure play areas.

The 1,000 acres of River Lee Country Park should sort those who want to see critters in their natural habitat, as well as those who want to walk, cycle, or get out into the water in a canoe, rowing boat, electric boat or pedalo.
