General

  • Within easy reach of London and visitor attractions
  • FootGolf and 18-hole pay and play golf course on site
  • Discount cards for local attractions given to all guests

You'll have loads of leisurely options at this Greater London campsite: peaceful and modern Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park is less than an hour from the bright lights of central London (for city folk escaping and city connoisseurs visiting), and (the clue is in the name) lies among the splendid scenery, walks and bike rides of the Lee Valley.

Need just a bit more? An 18-hole pay and play golf course is also on site for guests to use at members' prices, along with the fably fun FootGolf for those who prefer to boot balls rather than leisurely swing at them: do give it a go, it's immense fun.

The site has a well-stocked shop, a spacious play area and a modern facilities block with toilets, free hot showers and a laundry corner with washing machines, tumble dryers and an ironing board.

Walks and bike rides are all around, as well as the Lee Valley Athletics Centre for those who feel energetic and a nearby Odeon cinema complex for cosy evenings or damp afternoons. Discount cards for the attractions and cafés of Lee Valley Regional Park are given to all guests.

The park was lovely and quiet. There was a nice park for the kids. The rent was great we just turned up and it had everything you needed which took the stress out of the holiday. It's between 15 and 30mins away from the lee valley white water centre and the velo park so great location. The athletics centre was on site which was great for the kids. Very relaxing holiday and the kids loved it.

    Disliked:

The toilet block could do with updating but clean and the showers were hot.

Great site and a good point to explore Lee Valley from. Tent was ace. 16/08/2017

    Great site.
Hidden away behind a cinema and Leisure Centre, but in the site, the city and buildings cannot really be seen.
The 4 man deluxe tent was great. It was our first time at 'glamping' and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Beds were comfy (though the smaller camp beds were uncomfortable for an adult - great for kids).
Had enough plates and cutlery, though some needed an additional wash before using.
    Great for visiting Lee Valley.
Great having cinema on doorstep and walkable for evening screenings (and morning Kids Club (only £2.50 pp).
Used disposable BBQ on the BBQ that comes with the tent.
Kettle, heater and plugs, what's not to love.
Had good neighbours, young kids who played with our won kids.
It was very quiet on the evening and through the night.

    Disliked:

Male toilets often were a bit soggy on the floor. (but not all the time).
Wouldn't want to explore much outside of the campsite on foot due to the industrial nature of the surroundings.

Its a great base to get out on your bike. Quiet surroundings facilities are all there and a small shop which was handy when you forget the lighter for the cooker! Pitch was good size and we were not hemmed in. There was a large group of school children from France arrived the second night set up a lot of small tents with their large coach. We were amazed at the fact they were not noisy and at 9am we thought perhaps they had already left but in fact were still asleep!

    La tienda era correcta.

    Disliked:

Local attractions

London of course… get into the city in under an hour from Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park's local station of Edmonton's Silver Street towards Charing Cross, Oxford Circus and Liverpool Street and the hundreds of things to see and do around the city.

Those who've come to escape city throngs will happily find many activities available in the Lee Valley, Hertfordshire and Essex, from gentle walking and cycling trails to adrenaline-raising whitewater rafting or family paddling on the Olympic course at the Lee Valley White Water Centre (where the canoe slalom events were held during London 2012).

Seasonal fishing is available in the area if you prefer a more placid pursuit, or you could take the crew along to Lee Valley Park Farms at Waltham Abbey, to meet meerkats, llamas, reindeer and other non-native (and native) critters, watch events like falconry displays and pig and lamb racing, or let the kids loose to career around one of the four adventure play areas.

The 1,000 acres of River Lee Country Park should sort those who want to see critters in their natural habitat, as well as those who want to walk, cycle, or get out into the water in a canoe, rowing boat, electric boat or pedalo.
