General

  • Wildlife haven with easy access to London
  • Close to whitewater rafting, bike and walking paths
  • London travel cards available to buy

In a wildlife haven among the traffic-free trails of the 1,000-acre River Lee Country Park – and all only 40 minutes by train from central London: have a stay at Greater London's Lee Valley Campsite to escape the city for a weekend, or to use the site as a nifty rural base for getting into the urban for day trips. (Either way, do take quite a bit of time to get around the country park for ambling, pedalling and wildlife watching among its rare resident species).

Lee Valley Campsite has a play area, a shop selling essentials and one-day travel cards for London, a launderette with ironing facilities, and heated showers and toilet blocks. Dogs are welcome.

The site also has free wifi – just the ticket when researching which museum or shopping area to get to in London first?

Nice site, clean showers and toilets, all good 04/06/2018

  • Liked:

Toilets and showers were very clean, they have 2 toilet blocks, one has a key code and only 2 toilets and 2 showers, the other is open and is a lot bigger.
Friendly staff. nicely kept site. Easy to get on the nature trails from the back of the site, but make sure you know the keycode to get back in. We walked to lea valley white water centre via the river, it took a while, but lovely walk.

    Disliked:

Although it is next to the River Lea, you cannot access it for canoeing or swimming. Shop on site is small, but carries not essentials

Beautifully kept site, with a shop, laundry, washing up facilities and good toilet/showers. All staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Bus service if needed and handy enough to get to local attractions - of which there are plenty if you need something to do. We went for a boat ride at Lee Valley Boating Centre, only a short trip away.
Despite the amount of people there, the site was very quiet and everyone was respectful of everyone else, I've been to some that aren't!
Will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone who asks :)
