Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone: The cabins

General

  • Wildlife haven with easy access to London
  • Close to whitewater rafting, bike and walking paths
  • London travel cards available to buy

In a wildlife haven among the traffic-free trails of the 1,000-acre River Lee Country Park – and all only 40 minutes by train from central London: have a stay at Greater London's Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone to escape the city for a weekend, or to use the site as a nifty rural base for getting into the urban for day trips. (Either way, do take quite a bit of time to get around the country park for ambling, pedalling and wildlife watching among its rare resident species).

Lee Valley Campsite has a play area, a shop selling essentials and one-day travel cards for London, a launderette with ironing facilities, and heated showers and toilet blocks. Dogs are welcome.

The site also has free wifi – just the ticket when researching which museum or shopping area to get to in London first...?

Please note

Facilities/activities including washing machine and hair dryer are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

We chose to go full service for our ten year wedding anniversary at Lea Valley Campsite and we were not disappointed! There was no driving to empty the grey water and filling water was all right there by our pitch. A short walk with the cassette but no one wants that too close! It was quiet and we barely saw anyone aside from some robins and bunnies. We actually decided to stay an extra night and that was no problem at all, we just popped into to office and paid. I saw that there is bicycle hire as well for the more active visitors. There is a Woodlands Walk which unfortunately due to the weather we didn’t manage to do. There seems to be different types of accommodation like pods, cabins and room for camping and caravaning! It also all seems very family friendly too.

    Disliked:

There wasn’t anything we didn’t particularly disliked to be honest.
