Good for lively young families but not for peace and quiet 03/09/2017

Friendly owners and nice touch with the produce for sale as well as the daily firewood.
Also lovely walks to some great pubs.

    Disliked:

Not very peaceful atmosphere. Had hoped for a tranquil weekend away in the country to unwind but the near constant screams of kids running around wasn't conducive to that. The glamping field had a party with DJ banging tunes late into the night for a private party - this had not been mentioned on booking! Again - not exactly peaceful.
Sorry if this sounds like sour grapes but when a site comes recommended for couples and for relaxation - I feel this is very misleading.

I took my two children to Hale Farm and had a great time. (Dad and kids ages 9 and 11) Ruth and her husdband are a lovely young couple and very welcoming. The site is excellent. Basic but clean and functional facilities provide everything you need. We did not want a site with 100's of tents and electricity etc. We wanted something a bit more real and back to basic camping and Hale Campsite didn't dissapoint. My kids also loved the farm animals. It is also a great location with Eastbourne only 15 mins away. We will be back.

    Disliked:

I feel there could be more toilets at the back of the field, and it would be better if 2 x female beside eachother and 2 x male beside eachother. It's a bit outputting that you can hear the person beside you breathing when you're trying to do your thing, but wouldn't be as bad if I knew they were the same sex.

Ruth was really friendly and welcoming. This was our third stay and we had a brilliant time as usual. Hale Farm is really relaxed. The kids loved feeding the animals, exploring in the wooded areas around the field and toasting marshmallows. We enjoyed chilling out knowing that the kids were happy and safe. Lovely shortish walk to the Gun, clean toilets, hot showers, who could ask for more?
